Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a Manager - Sustainability to lead the development and execution of ESG initiatives, integrate sustainability across departments, and promote resource efficiency. The role focuses on enhancing environmental and social performance and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.

You will work with top management and external stakeholders, manage the sustainability team, drive reporting, risk assessment, and continual improvement, and help align investments

Qualifications

  • BE/B.E. or equivalent degree; Diploma in Environment or Masters in Sustainability advantageous.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Environment & Sustainability (ESMS/IMS).
  • Understanding of national and international E&S/funding institutions requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies and integrate ESG into operations.
  • Identify climate risks and opportunities; promote sustainable practices.
  • Prepare sustainability performance reports and ensure ESG data accuracy.

Job description

Purpose/Objective

The Manager - Sustainability is responsible for supporting the development and execution of sustainability initiatives and strategies within the organization.

This role focuses on enhancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, promoting resource efficiency, and ensuring compliance with national and international sustainability standards.

The Manager - Sustainability will work closely with various departments to integrate sustainability practices across the company and contribute to the achievement of corporate sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities of Role
  • Sustainability Manager-Tx Sustainability & Climate Change Integration: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to integrate sustainability and climate change considerations into the company's operations.
  • Support the identification and analysis of climate-related risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with departments to promote sustainable practices and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Sustainability Performance Reporting & ESG Compliance: Support the development and execution of sustainability performance reporting, ensuring transparency and accuracy in ESG data.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with sustainability standards such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
  • Prepare and present sustainability performance reports to stakeholders.
  • Environment Management Systems (EMS) & Regulatory Compliance Management: Assist in implementing and maintaining environmental management systems (EMS) that comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of environmental management practices.
  • Sustainability Due Diligence & Investment Compliance: Conduct sustainability due diligence for new investments and projects.
  • Ensure investment decisions align with the company's sustainability goals and ESG criteria.
  • Support the finance team in integrating sustainability considerations into financial planning.
  • Corporate Sustainability Strategy: Assist in the development and implementation of the corporate sustainability strategy, focusing on long-term environmental, social, and economic goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of the sustainability strategy.
  • Team Management: Support the sustainability team with guidance and direction to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in developing training programs to enhance the sustainability knowledge and skills of team members.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and partnerships.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and forums to share best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Continual Improvement: Identify and evaluate new technologies and trends in sustainability to enhance performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage sustainability-related risks, including climate change and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the company's long-term sustainability.
  • Monitor and report on emerging sustainability risks and opportunities.
  • Key Stakeholders - Internal All Departments of AESL Top Management Corporate Responsibility Committee of the Board
  • Key Stakeholders - External External Audit Agencies Vendors & Suppliers Consultants & Advisors Global ESG Rating Agencies (Sustainalytics, CDP, DJSI, FTSE, MSCI, etc.

  • Understanding of National & international financial institutions’ E&S requirements.
  • Understanding and exposure of ESG (Environment Social & governance)/ em.
