Job summary

You will conduct safety inspections, enforce PPE, report hazards, train new workers, and collaborate with engineers and supervisors to maintain smooth workflows, inventory accuracy, and production

Job description

Job Purpose

Daily Operations:

• Assist in the planning and execution of mining operations.


• Oversee the drilling and blasting operations, ensuring adherence to safe practices.


• Monitor the operation of equipment and ensure safe working conditions.

Safety and Compliance:

• Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure that the mining site meets legal standards.


• Enforce safety protocols among the team, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).


• Report any safety hazards, incidents, or breaches to the supervisor immediately.

Equipment Handling:

• Operate and manage mining machinery such as drills, loaders, and excavators.


• Perform regular maintece checks on equipment to prevent breakdowns.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Record daily operational activities, including work completed and issues encountered.


• Prepare reports on production and submit them to the supervisor for evaluation.


• Assist in inventory management by tracking materials and tools used.

Team Collaboration:

• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and workers to ensure smooth workflow.


• Train new workers and brief them on safety and operational procedures.

Blasting Operations:

• Assist the blaster in charge with loading, charging, and firing explosives following safety protocols.


• Monitor and control access to the blasting area during operations.

Emergency Response:

• Being prepared to respond to emergencies such as fires, accidents, or natural disasters. The Mines Foreman must ensure that emergency response plans are in place, personnel are trained in emergency procedures, and appropriate equipment and resources are readily available during the shift.
