Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a Statutory Mines Manager to oversee all mining activities and ensure strict compliance with Mines Act 1952, MMR 1961, and DGMS guidelines. You will lead the development and implementation of mine safety standards to promote a zero-incident culture and optimize operations.

You will supervise mine development plans, control costs, mentor a team of Assistant Mines Managers and Foremen, and drive environmental stewardship and the adoption of new technologies across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mining Engineering with DGMS 1st Class Manager certificate.
• 8+ years of experience in mining operations.
• Extensive knowledge of Mines Act 1952, MMR 1961 and DGMS regulations.

• The Statutory Mines Manager supervises the execution of mine development plans, optimizes resource utilization, and manages operational costs.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Regulatory Compliance and Safety Governance: Ensure full compliance with the Mines Act 1952, MMR 1961, and DGMS regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.

• Regularly review and update safety protocols to align with the latest regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety, quality, or production efficiency.
• Optimize resource utilization to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead a team of Assistant Mines Managers, Foremen, and other key personnel, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide opportunities for professional development within the mining team.

• Internal Controls and Transparency: Implement internal controls to ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering with a 1st Class Manager Competency Certificate issued by DGMS.
• Work Experience: 8+ years of experience in mining operations, preferably with exposure to managing statutory compliance and safety standards.
• Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the Mines Act 1952, MMR 1961, and DGMS regulations, with a focus on maintaining mine safety standards and promoting a zero-incident culture.
