Job summary

Aditya Birla Group in Gujarat, India is seeking a Staff in Metals for supervision of electrical maintenance, generator and switchgear operations, and ensuring reliable power distribution. Diploma in Electrical with 5-7 years experience preferred. You will work across shift operations to maintain plant reliability.

You will coordinate safety standards, perform fault diagnosis, assist in preventive maintenance, and mentor technicians and contract manpower on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in power plant major electrical equipment such as generators, AVR, transformers, CT/PT/breakers, HT panels, VFD panels, HT/LT motors, etc.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift-wise operation and maintenance of generators, transformers, HT/LT switchgear, VFDs, motors, battery systems and associated electrical equipment.
• Monitor electrical system parameters and ensure reliable power generation and distribution without interruption.
• Carry out regular shift inspections and identify abnormal conditions in electrical equipment.
• Attend electrical breakdowns, perform fault diagnosis, and restore equipment with minimum downtime.
• Ensure compliance with LOTOTO, PTW, electrical safety standards, and SOPs.
• Coordinate switching operations in HT/LT systems and maintain proper isolation practices.
• Monitor 220 kV switchyard equipment, protection systems, and transmission interfaces.
• Monitor Generator AVR, Excitation System, Synchronizing System, and protection relays for reliable operation.
• Ensure proper functioning of EMS, energy meters, fault recorder systems, and associated networks.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, instrumentation, and other departments for smooth plant operation.
• Maintain shift logbooks, equipment history records, breakdown reports, and abnormality tracking records.
• Participate in preventive maintenance, shutdown activities, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Guide and supervise technicians, contract manpower, and trainees during shift operations and maintenance activities.
• Support Kaizen, reliability improvement projects, digitalization initiatives, and energy conservation activities.
