Job summary

Align Technology in Hyderabad seeks an experienced logistics professional to drive inbound and outbound operations for Invisalign production in India.

The role focuses on managing international shipping, customs, and domestic transportation, with emphasis on cost control, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration across a multinational setting. You will lead improvement projects and coordinate with IT systems like SAP and TMS platforms.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Business Management, Logistics or Supply Chain or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in logistics or similar roles.
• Understanding of International Shipping, Brokerage, Contract Logistics and Domestic Transportation.
• Proficient in MS Excel and data analysis.
• SAP experience is essential.
• Familiarity with customs processes and broker collaboration.
• Experience with TMS platforms like Transporeon or ShipERP.
• Experience in Medical Device sector is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers for best performance.
• Ability to work in a matrixed multinational environment.
• Proactive and willing to learn, hands-on attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support inbound logistics covering international transportation and customs clearance to local plant in India.
• Oversee supply chain operations and fulfil Invisalign product distribution to meet demand.
• Manage freight and logistics partners’ performance for shipping, brokerage, and distribution.
• Expand the local logistics network to enhance coverage in India.
• Support RFQ processes, govern rates and surcharges, and oversee freight audit and payments.
• Introduce, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard logistics carriers.
• Navigate local customs, tax and distribution regulations with regulators.
• Monitor transportation budget and analyze logistics spend to optimize cost-to-serve.
• Resolve shipping issues with RCA and CAPA actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost, shorten lead times, and improve customer experience.
• Support Trade Compliance through records keeping and audits.
• Provide guidance to other functions on logistics matters to boost efficiency.

Role expectations

In this role, you will…

• Support inbound logistics covering international transportation, customs clearance and delivery of raw materials, equipment, spare parts and retrofits from different suppliers and origins to local plant for manufacturing of Invisalign products in India
• Oversee and manage supply chain operations and fulfilment of Invisalign products to meet customer’s demand
• Manage and monitor freight and logistics partners’ performance for shipping, brokerage and domestic distribution
• Spearhead expansion of local logistics network to enhance operational coverage and capabilities in India
• Support RFQ, govern rates and surcharges, and oversee freight audit and payments
• Responsible for logistics carriers’ introduction, evaluation, negotiation, and onboarding.
• Understand and navigate complex and challenging local customs, tax and distribution landscape – act as key contact point with Customs, clearing houses, and related regulatory bodies
• Monitor transportation budget/cost with analysis of logistics spends and manage cost-to-serve outcomes
• Resolve shipping and distribution related feedback and escalation with systematic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions - Preventive Actions (CAPA) Plan
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations and processes with objectives of 1. Reducing cost / 2. shortening fulfilment lead-time / 3. enhancing customer experience
• Support Trade Compliance program in terms of records keeping and local audits
• Provide guidance to other functions on logistics related matters to enhance efficiency of operations

What We’re Looking For

In this role, you will need …

• BA/BS degree in Business Management, Logistics or Supply Chain or equivalent practical experience
• At least 5 years of experience in the logistics industry or in a similar role managing logistics service providers
• In-depth understanding of Supply Chain processes including International Shipping, Brokerage, Contract Logistics and Domestic Transportation
• Demonstrated mid-level or above proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, analyzing and manipulating datasets through formulas and macros
• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience of SAP system is essential
• Solid understanding of customs processes and broker collaboration
• Hands‑on experience with TMS platforms such as Transporeon, ShipERP, or equivalent
• Exposure to Medical Device sector (particularly Dental & Orthodontics) is preferred
• Experienced with project management tools and managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and decision‑making skills with attention to detail
• Experienced in managing and negotiating with suppliers to establish best‑in‑class performance
• Ability to collaborate with different functional teams and handle key stakeholders within the organization
• Exposure to working in MNCs with matrixed organizational structure and regional/global support requests
• Pro‑active, willing‑to‑learn attitude and “roll up sleeves” to accomplish all necessary tasks
