Job summary

ABB in Vadodara, India, invites applications for a Senior Supplier Quality position. You will lead supplier assessments, drive corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity, and manage KPIs for supplier performance, ensuring on-site and off-site quality execution.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in supplier quality, with experience in PPAP, supplier qualification, and audits. Knowledge of relays and switchgear will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electronics (full-time) required.
• 5–8 years of experience in Supplier Quality and Quality Management.
• Experience in manufacturing process audits, new part development, supplier qualification, and supplier onboarding.
• Hands-on experience in incoming supplier process quality, including type testing, HV testing and functional testing.
• Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, Poka‑Yoke, SPC, DMAIC, 8D) and ISO 9001:2015 auditing.

Responsibilities

• Lead approval processes for supplier parts, materials, and subcontractor services, including PPAP and supplier development at manufacturing sites.
• Address supply quality issues promptly related to quality, deliveries, non-conforming products, or project services.
• Collaborate with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims when necessary.
• Ensure thorough execution of supplier development processes to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution division at Vadodara, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Driving approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, as applicable, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
• Leading in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, non-compliant products, or project services.
• Working together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.
• Ensuring required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.

Qualifications For The Role

• Degree in Electronics Engineering (should be full-time)
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Process Audits, and Quality Management.
• Experience in manufacturing process audits, new part development, supplier qualification, and supplier onboarding.
• Hands‑on experience in incoming supplier process quality, including type testing, HV testing, and functional testing.
• Product knowledge of relays and switchgear is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, Poka‑Yoke, SPC, DMAIC, and 8D Root Cause Analysis, along with ISO 9001:2015 auditing knowledge.
