Job summary

Uttam Bharat in Jaipur seeks a Supervisor - Winding & Insulation to direct the safe and timely completion of daily production by leading a team of operators in winding and insulation on transformer manufacturing lines. You will drive process improvements, ensure quality and cost objectives, and maintain 5S in the winding area while coordinating with maintenance and QA to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare winding detail charts and verify drawings for production.
• Execute conductor reel up plan as per design.
• Check availability of formers and place resupply orders.
• Maintain master data of former stock list.
• Ensure coil pressing as per plan and handover to CCA.
• Ensure insulation materials availability per drawing and plan.
• Guarantee all winding and insulation are completed per plan.
• Ensure 5S control in winding and insulation area.
• Provide daily production reports to Asst. Production Manager.

JOB TITLE

Supervisor - Winding & Insulation

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To direct the safe and timely completion of daily production plan by leading the team. This position is also responsible for leading process continual improvements to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.

KEY ACTIVITIES

1. To prepare winding detail chart and check for any errors in drawings before production.
2. To prepare and execute conductor reel up plan as per design.
3. To check for availability of former (farma) according to design well in advance.
4. To give indent for new former in case of unavailability well in advance.
5. To develop and maintain master data of former stock list.
6. To ensure coil pressing work is done as per plan and then handover to CCA department for ovening.
7. To ensure insulation material availability as per drawing and production plan.
8. To ensure all winding and insulation is completed as per plan.
9. To ensure coil storage as per work instruction.
10. To ensure all production is done as per quality guidelines, SOP and work instructions.
11. To ensure 5S ("sort", "set in order", "shine", "standardize", and "sustain") control in the winding and insulation area.
12. To check full kitting of material before starting production and check conformity of material as per design and checklist.
13. To ensure manpower deployment according to plan.
14. To suggest ideas for improvement in workmanship and design.
15. To conduct training for manpower development and skill enhancement.
16. To give first authorization of workers leave application and recommend to supervisor for continuity of work during this time.
17. To ensure that all machines and equipment’s are regularly calibrated as per schedule.
18. To ensure zero wastage of material on shop floor.
19. To take regular stock of issued material and return balance left over material to stores on weekly basis.
20. To provide daily production report to Asst. Production Manager.
21. To provide material indent to stores for issue of raw material.
22. To ensure proper handling of tools, jigs, formers and fixtures.
23. To assist testing department during stage inspection.
24. To attend daily kick off meeting with Production Manager and conduct floor meetings with their team members.
25. To identify and provide information to production manager for any corrections required in TW Chart / BOM.
26. To take physical stock of ready coils on fortnightly basis.
27. To provide time and work measurement data to Asst. Production Manager as and when required.
28. To ensure all safety guidelines are followed during production.
29. To perform corrective action in case of any in-process NC within given time.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification (Must/Desirable): ITI / Diploma / Good Experience in relevant field. Experience: Min. 10 years’ experience as winding technician / supervisor and insulation shop.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Experience in winding upto 20 MVA Transformers and special transformers like furnace / solar / converter duty transformers. Experience in winding of Disc Winding / Helical Winding / Cross-over Winding / Edge Winding / Interleaved Winding / Foil Winding / Rectangular Winding / Oval Winding both for HV and LV. Winding Upto 64 Conductors. Transposed Winding. CTC Winding. Experience in Brazing, Soldering, Mechanical Joints, Crimping, MIG Welding.
