Job summary

Rohan Builders is seeking a safety observer for on-site monitoring and reporting of unsafe conditions and acts. You will inspect equipment, supervise safety practices, and ensure timely availability of safety materials at our construction sites.

Ideal candidates have a safety-related diploma, up to 6 months in building construction safety, and strong English/Hindi communication. Role requires coordination with teams, labour camps, and visitors to uphold safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation: 12th Passed with Diploma in Safety Management or Fire & Safety.
• Minimum 0 to 6 months of experience in building construction safety job.
• Good written and spoken communication skills (English and Hindi).
• Basic computer operations and emailing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection of vehicles, construction machinery, tools and equipment, electrical installations, shuttering/scaffolding structures, fire and first aid equipment, and PPE according to the checklist.
• Supervise usage of proper safety equipment and methods for job tasks.
• Record correct/incorrect safety practices and take corrective action.
• Assist in periodic safety training, safety induction, and daily toolbox talks for labour, staff and visitors.
• Monitor hygiene and cleanliness; ensure Doctor's visits to labour camps; supervise housekeeping and pest control at site.
• Ensure procurement and timely availability of safety materials and their effective use.
• Handle accidents/incidents and perform accident analysis with preventive actions.
• Add value by improving safe and hygienic working conditions with proactive measures.
• Coordinate effectively with team members, seniors, other departments, consultants, etc.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

On site observation, monitoring and reporting for control about unsafe condition and unsafe act at site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Carry out inspection of vehicles, construction machinery, tools and equipment, electrical installations, shuttering/scaffolding structures, Fire & First Aid equipment, and PPE according to the checklist and
• 2. Supervision of usage of proper safety equipment/ methods required for particular job tasks / activities
• 3. Recording of the correct/ incorrect safety practices followed at site and action taken for rectification of the same.
• 4. Assistance in periodic safety training, safety induction, daily tool box meeting for labours, Staff and Visitors.
• 5. Monitor hygiene, cleanliness, ensuring Doctor's visit to the labour camps. Supervise proper housekeeping, pest control at the site.
• 6. Ensure procurement and availability of safety material in time and effective utilization of the same
• 7. Handling critical situations like accidents/ incidents and carrying out accident analysis, preventive actions to be taken
• 8. Value additions improving safe and hygienic working conditions. Proactive measures taken for Environment safety.
• 9. Effective co-ordination with team members, seniors, other depts., consultants etc. for smooth implementation of safety norms

KEY DELIVERABLES / PERFORMANCE MEASURES

• 1. Identify and ensure compliance of unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
• 2. Efforts to minimize injuries at site.

KEY CHALLENGES

• 1. Maintain the safety skill of work force which is highly volatile in terms of frequent shifting of work location.
• 2. Sustain pressure of work speed with safety and legal requirements relating to workforce.

Knowledge

• 1. Graduation: 12Th Passed with Diploma in safety management or Fire and safety.
