Job summary

Donaldson is seeking a Production Manager to lead shop floor operations, optimize daily production schedules, and ensure safety and quality. The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, manpower planning, and data-driven improvements to reduce defects and boost efficiency.

With 8–10 years in filter manufacturing and production management, you will train operators, monitor KPIs, and coordinate with support functions to meet delivery targets while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of production workflows, machinery, and materials used as per standard and BOM.
• Knowledge of Lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, JIT) to identify waste and reduce costs.
• Quick decision-making under pressure, especially during equipment failures or delays.
• Hands-on experience with machinery, production lines, and automation systems.
• Ability to diagnose root causes to resolve mechanical or electrical issues.
• Familiarity with safety protocols, regulatory standards (ISO, OSHA), and environmental guidelines.
• Supervise and train production operators, ensuring safety and operational best practices.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement within production teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve First Test Failure rates at various production stages.
• Collect and analyze rejection data to drive improvements.
• Train new operators and prepare skill matrices.

Key Accountabilities

• Shop Floor Management, Oversee daily shift production operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with production schedules.
• Manpower Planning.
• To maintain a proper ratio of trained and untrained employees
• Improvement in FTF (First Test Failure) at different stages of production
• To collect and analyze rejection data.
• Training of New Operator.
• Skill Matrix Preparation For Operator.
• To keep inventory control in the shop floor.
• Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained at all times.
• Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Ensuring the KPIs are monitored and targets achieved.
• Drive performance of team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
• Ensure safe working practices are maintained and 'Standard Operations' adherence.
• Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced.
• Coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications
• Communicate with the teams by utilizing visual management, delivering shift briefs with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement

Education Qualification

B.Tech. / B.E. in Any Specialization

Technical Competence & Skills

• Manufacturing Processes: Deep understanding of production workflows, machinery, and materials used as per standard and BOM.
• Lean manufacturing: Knowledge of Lean principles, such as Kaizen, 5S, and Just-In-Time (JIT), helps identify and eliminate waste, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
