Job summary

Donaldson India Filter Systems Pvt Ltd is seeking a seasoned engineer to drive engineering changes in hydraulic filtration products. You will manage projects from change initiation to implementation, coordinating with design, sales, procurement and production to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires strong GD&T, ECR/ECO/ECN, PPAP, DVP&R knowledge and hands-on CAD experience (NX, Creo, Teamcenter, ARAS Innovator). Travel about 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Knowledge of NX (NX11 preferred), Creo, Teamcenter PLM, ARAS Innovator and SharePoint a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects for engineering changes in hydraulic filtration products (ECRs/ECOs).
• Manage all project activities from change initiation to implementation.
• Collaborate with project leaders, engineers, sales, suppliers, procurement, quality and production to implement changes or develop solutions.
• Use Oracle BI to obtain product and supply information.
• Review drawings and provide design input on plastic, rubber, and sheet metal parts.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve engineering issues per drawings and feasibility.
• Demonstrate PLM workflow knowledge and contribute to development of design drawings.
• Proficient in NX, Creo, Teamcenter, ARAS Innovator and Oracle BI.
• Provide design guidance and suggest alternative solutions.
• Understand hydraulic filtration systems and support design documentation to meet requirements.
• Knowledge of ECR, ECO/ECN, drafting, PPAP, DVP&R, Dimensional Reports, SPC, and Testing & Validation protocols.

Key Accountabilities

• Leading projects for engineering changes in existing hydraulic filtration products through Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) or Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Carrying out all project management activities from change initiation to implementation for various types of engineering changes, such as qualifying new suppliers, new materials, new tooling for plastic parts, cost reduction, and design changes.
• Communicating and collaborating with project leaders, application engineers, sales representatives, suppliers, procurement teams, quality engineers, and production engineers to implement engineering changes or develop optimal solutions to problems.
• Utilizing Oracle Business Intelligence to obtain required information about products and product supply.
• Reviewing engineering drawings and providing design guidance and input on plastic, rubber, and sheet metal products.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (CFT) to resolve engineering issues in accordance with drawing standards and manufacturing feasibility.
• Demonstrating knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) workflow cycles.
• Proficient in software tools such as NX, Creo, Teamcenter, ARAS Innovator and Oracle BI.
• Providing design guidance and recommending alternative solutions as required.
• Demonstrating design knowledge of hydraulic filtration systems and supporting the development of design drawings to achieve technical objectives consistent with established guidelines, customer requirements, and design specifications.
• Demonstrating knowledge of ECR, ECO/ECN, drafting, PPAP, DVP&R, dimensional reports, SPC, and testing & validation protocols.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, Advanced degree preferred.
• knowledge of NX (NX11 is preferred), Creo, Teamcenter PLM, ARAS Innovator and SharePoint a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Technical Competence & Skills

• Understanding of industry design standards for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Experience with sheet metal and plastic part design Knowledge of injection, blow, rotational & rubber molding process Knowledge of sheet metal pressing & fabrication process Familiarity with ECR/ECO/ECN, Drafting, PPAP, DVP&R, Dimensional Reports, SPC, XFMEA, Testing & Validation protocols.
• Able to communicate effectively at a global level.
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and coordinating with the Global Team to meet customer expectations.

Relevant Experience

• 4+ years of professional Engineering, Engineering Tech or Engineering Design work experience.
• Experience in Mobile Hydraulic Filtration products.

• Ability to travel approximately 10% per year.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret the engineering documents (drawings, engineering specifications).
• Ability to respond timely & effectively to the critical inquiries / technical issues or complaints.
• Ability to make effective presentations on regular updates & critical issues to global team.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of global personnel.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
