We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 8+ years of experience in SPM design calculations, mechanical engineering, and industrial automation, preferably in the automative or tyre manufacturing industry. The role involves validating standard component selection, developing engineering calculations sheets, reviewing design calculations, and assessing alternative components.
The Ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in mechanical design calculations and component validation to improve design accuracy, reduce rework, and enhance engineering efficiency.
- Standard Part Selection Validation: Should be able to validate the selection of different standard items like Motor torque & power, gearbox, chain/Timer belt, Linear actuators, Ball screw, LM Guides etc.
- Calculation Sheet Creation – Should be able to create different calculation sheets for majority of the standard items & application.
- Calculation Referent: Should be able to validate calculation made by the team for their application.
- Alternate spec validation: In case of alternate item selection in case of obsoletion, technical validation and review to be done to match original spec.
- FEA analysis: Should be capable of defining boundary conditions (Bolted joints and welded joints) and suggest improvement in the structure.
- Strengthening the team’s ability to select and validate standard components.
- Reducing manual effort through standardized calculations and technical reviews.
- Minimizing design errors, rework and project execution delays.
- Ensuring technical compliance when replacing obsolete components.
- Enhancing structural integrity through appropriate analysis and design recommendations.
- Improving consistency, reliability and quality across SPM engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in SPM design, mechanical engineering calculations, or industrial automations.
