Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) T&D Pipelines is seeking a Structural Designer (REVIT) to support our Mumbai office. You will model foundations and steel in REVIT, create GA drawings, and perform clash checks to ensure quality deliverables for pipeline projects.

The role requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI with experience, strong knowledge of 3D design tools, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including USA counterparts.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with min 4 years of experience or ITI with 6 years of experience.
• Experience in industrial/commercial design drafting and GA drawings.
• Knowledge of international codes (AISC, ACI, PIP).
• 3D tools: Revit (Structural) required; Tekla and others are a plus.
• Coordination tools: Navisworks, AutoCAD-2D.
• MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote.

Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling and 2D drafting of foundations and steel, GA drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Produce construction deliverables: Foundation plan, elevations, sections, BOQ/MTOs; stairs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop clash-free model.
• Manage scope within schedule and budget; ensure quality norms.
• Assist engineers in preparing and reviewing discipline deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with USA counterparts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Structural Designer (REVIT) - T&D

Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) T&D Pipelines is looking for dynamic and self-motivated Structural Designer to support our T&D Pipeline Engineering and Design Team in the Mumbai/Bangalore Office. T&D Pipeline offers a depth and breadth of experience in cross-country pipeline projects, RNG’s, M&R Stations, casing replacements, compressor stations etc. which covers a wide range of design and project execution experiences. This position is responsible for Structural 3D modelling using Revit, drafting & running clash checks etc. on Pipeline Projects. Candidate will perform work which involves both conventional engineering practices and complex situations, requiring innovative solutions relative to work practices and procedures.

Following are some specific duties & responsibilities:

3D Modeling and 2D drafting of foundations and steel, general arrangement drawings using tools like REVIT (Structural), AutoCAD to produce construction deliverables like

• Foundation plan, elevations, sections, and detail drawings.

• Steel plan, elevations, sections, and detail drawings

• Location layout and key plan

• Bill of Quantities (BOQ) / Material Take-offs (MTOs)

• Stairs, Ladders and Misc. items

Coordinate with other disciplines and develop a clash-free 3D model/drawing.

Responsible to manage the assigned scope within the agreed schedule, and budget and complying with agreed project quality norms.

Assist Engineers in preparing, coordinating, and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.

A committed team player able to work on their own initiative.

Effective communication both verbal as well as writing and collaboration with USA Counterpart.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

Diploma in Civil Engineering with min 4 years of experience or ITI with 6 years of experience.

Experience in industrial/commercial design drafting, development of general arrangement drawings, foundation and steel layouts, Foundation detail drawings, steel connection drawings, and Modeling of steel and foundations.

Diagrammatic skills, 3D conceptual skills

Working knowledge of international codes and standards (AISC, ACI, PIP etc.) used in Manufacturing, Industrial, and Commercial projects.

3D Tools: Knowledge of REVIT (Structural) is a must. Tekla & other tools will be an added advantage.

Coordination Tools: Navisworks, AutoCAD-2D

Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote

Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
