Structural Designer 2D – T&D Civil Structural

Work on substation, transmission, and pipeline projects with the T&D Civil Structural Engineering and Design Team in Mumbai/Bangalore.

Job Role

Support the T&D Civil Structural Engineering and Design Team as a Structural Designer, responsible for drafting and running clash checks on Civil Structural Projects.

Responsibilities

• 2‑D drafting of foundations and steel, general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD (MicroStation is a plus); deliver planning, elevation, section, and detail drawings for foundations and steel.
• Create location layouts and key plans.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Material Take‑Offs (MTOs).
• Support stairs, ladders, and miscellaneous items (advantage).
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop a clash‑free 3‑D model or drawing (advantage).
• Manage assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Assist engineers in preparing, coordinating, and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.
• Work independently as a committed team player and communicate effectively with U.S. counterparts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or ITI with 6 years of experience.
• Experience in industrial/commercial design drafting, including foundation and steel layouts, detail drawings, steel connection drawings, and modeling of steel and foundations.
• Diagrammatic and 3‑D conceptual skills.
• Working knowledge of international codes and standards (AISC, ACI, PIP, etc.).
• Proficiency with 2‑D tools: AutoCAD‑2D, MicroStation.
• Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote.
