Job summary

Tekskills Inc. is hiring a Structural Design Engineer (Steel Structures) with 3–8 years of experience for hybrid roles in India. The position focuses on steel structural design for Power Plant/Oil & Gas projects, using STAAD Pro, and requires proficiency in relevant codes and methods.

The candidate will develop calculations, review drawings, perform foundation loads, and coordinate with modeling, engineering, and sourcing teams while guiding junior engineers.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong experience in Steel Structural Design.
• Hands-on with STAAD Pro.
• Knowledge of major codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, EN, IS).
• Understanding of Strength of Materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform steel structural design and analysis using STAAD Pro.
• Develop and review detailed engineering calculations.
• Perform bolted and welded connection calculations.
• Review and approve structural drawings.
• Foundation load calculations and power train arrangement for turbines/equipment.
• Coordinate with modelling, project engineering and sourcing teams.
• Handle supplier/vendor coordination and technical reviews.
• Provide technical support during project execution.
• Prepare detailed calculation reports and documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.

Hiring | Structural Design Engineer Steel Structures

Locations: Coimbatore | Bengaluru | Mysore
Experience: 3–8 Years
Work Mode: Hybrid

We are looking for Structural Design Engineers with strong experience in Steel Structural Design, preferably from the Power Plant / Oil & Gas domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform steel structural design and analysis using STAAD Pro
• Develop and review detailed engineering calculations
• Perform Bolted & Welded Connection Calculations
• Review and approve structural engineering drawings
• Perform Foundation Load Calculations
• Work on Power Train Arrangement & Fixations for turbines, generators, equipment, enclosures and inlet/outlet systems
• Coordinate with Modeling, Project Engineering and Sourcing teams
• Handle supplier/vendor coordination and technical reviews
• Provide technical support during project execution
• Prepare detailed calculation reports and documentation
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

Required Skills:

• B.E / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical Engineering
• Strong experience in Steel Structural Design
• Hands-on experience with STAAD Pro / STAAD
