Jindal Steel Limited is seeking a structural engineer to design, analyze, and vet steel and RCC structures for heavy industrial facilities. You will model and validate with STAAD.Pro/ETABS, coordinate detailing in AutoCAD and Tekla/SP3D, and review EPC/vendor drawings to mitigate bottlenecks.

The role involves retrofit designs and ensuring compliance with IS codes and international standards, with close collaboration across Process, Mechanical, PMO, and Safety teams.

Descripción del empleo

• Design & Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and vet steel and RCC structural designs for heavy industrial structuresincluding mill houses, furnace bays, pipe racks, conveyor galleries, bunkers, silos, heavy EOT crane gantries, and dynamic/vibrating machine foundations.
• Software & Detailing: Conduct structural modeling and analysis using STAAD.Pro / STAAD Foundation (or ETABS); coordinate detailing and model vetting using AutoCAD and Tekla Structures / SP3D.
• Vendor & EPC Management: Review and validate EPC/vendor calculation reports, general arrangement drawings (GADs), fabrication drawings, and connection details to prevent critical-path bottlenecks.
• Structural Integrity & Retrofitting: Perform residual life assessments, structural audits, and retrofit designs for aging plant assets (furnace sheds, material handling systems) in line with factory safety guidelines.
• Value Engineering (Design-to-Cost): Optimize steel tonnage, connection details, and concrete foundation volumes to achieve capex savings without compromising safety factors.
• Codes & Statutory Approvals: Ensure compliance with Indian Standards (IS 800:2007, IS 456, IS 875, IS 1893) and international codes (AISC/Eurocodes). Coordinate with third-party proof-consultants and statutory bodies (Factory Inspectorate, PESO).
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Project Execution (PMO), Maintenance/TPM, and Safety teams for failure root-cause analysis and seamless construction handover.
