Job summary

Tekskills Inc. is seeking a Structural Design Engineer for steel structures in a hybrid work setup across multiple locations in India. The role requires 3–8 years of experience and a BE/BTech in Civil or Mechanical engineering. Expertise in STAAD Pro, design calculations, and knowledge of major codes are essential for successful project delivery.

You will collaborate with MEP, project engineering, and procurement teams to ensure safe, compliant designs for power plant or oil&gas projects.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Civil or Mechanical engineering.
• Strong experience in steel structural design.
• Hands-on with STAAD Pro / STAAD.
• Knowledge of applicable codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, EN, IS).
• Power Plant/Oil & Gas project exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform steel design and analysis using STAAD Pro.
• Develop and review engineering calculations.
• Review bolt and weld connection calculations.
• Review and approve structural drawings.
• Perform foundation load calculations.
• Coordinate with modeling, project engineering and sourcing teams.
• Support during project execution and prepare calculation reports.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Role & responsibilities

Hiring | Structural Design Engineer Steel Structures

Locations: Coimbatore | Bengaluru | Mysore
Experience: 3–8 Years
Work Mode: Hybrid

We are looking for Structural Design Engineers with strong experience in Steel Structural Design, preferably from the Power Plant / Oil & Gas domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform steel structural design and analysis using STAAD Pro
• Develop and review detailed engineering calculations
• Perform Bolted & Welded Connection Calculations
• Review and approve structural engineering drawings
• Perform Foundation Load Calculations
• Work on Power Train Arrangement & Fixations for turbines, generators, equipment, enclosures and inlet/outlet systems
• Coordinate with Modeling, Project Engineering and Sourcing teams
• Handle supplier/vendor coordination and technical reviews
• Provide technical support during project execution
• Prepare detailed calculation reports and documentation
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

Required Skills:

• B.E / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical Engineering
• Strong experience in Steel Structural Design
• Hands-on experience with STAAD Pro / STAAD
• Knowledge of IBC, AISC, ASCE, EN & IS Codes
• Strong understanding of Strength of Materials
