Job summary

Tekskills Inc. is hiring a Structural Design Engineer specialized in steel structures for power plant and oil & gas domains. The candidate will design and analyze using STAAD Pro, review calculations, and ensure drawings meet codes. Focus on foundation loads, power train arrangement, and coordination with multiple teams. Mentoring junior engineers is expected.

The role requires BE/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical and strong knowledge of steel design, codes, and FEA is a plus.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong experience in steel structural design for power plant or oil & gas projects.
• Proficiency with STAAD Pro and design calculations.
• Knowledge of applicable codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, EN, IS).
• Familiarity with strength of materials concepts.
• Experience in power train arrangement and foundation calculations is a plus.
• FEA knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform steel structural design and analysis using STAAD Pro.
• Develop and review detailed engineering calculations.
• Carry out bolt and weld connection calculations.
• Review and approve structural drawings.
• Conduct foundation load calculations.
• Handle power train arrangement & fixations for turbines/equipment.
• Coordinate with modelling, project engineering and sourcing teams.
• Manage supplier/vendor coordination and technical reviews.
• Provide technical support during project execution.
• Prepare calculation reports and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Hiring | Structural Design Engineer Steel Structures

Locations: Coimbatore | Bengaluru | Mysore
Experience: 3–8 Years
Work Mode: Hybrid

We are looking for Structural Design Engineers with strong experience in Steel Structural Design, preferably from the Power Plant / Oil & Gas domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform steel structural design and analysis using STAAD Pro
• Develop and review detailed engineering calculations
• Perform Bolted & Welded Connection Calculations
• Review and approve structural engineering drawings
• Perform Foundation Load Calculations
• Work on Power Train Arrangement & Fixations for turbines, generators, equipment, enclosures and inlet/outlet systems
• Coordinate with Modeling, Project Engineering and Sourcing teams
• Handle supplier/vendor coordination and technical reviews
• Provide technical support during project execution
• Prepare detailed calculation reports and documentation
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

Required Skills:
