Job summary

Jays Civil Tec Design in Chennai, India, is seeking a structural design engineer (fresher or up to 2 years) to contribute to preliminary beam layouts, conduct modal analysis, and prepare design briefs in accordance with IS codes. You will check and issue GFCs for CAD drawings, mentor junior engineers, attend site and client meetings, and participate in project reviews.

Qualifications

• Fresher or up to 2 years of experience in structural design with a PG degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering major)
• Up-to-date knowledge of IS codes required

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary beam layouts in accordance with architectural floor plans.
• Produce modal analysis and determine loads on columns.
• Prepare a design brief report as per the design analysis.
• Check and issue GFCs of CAD drawings (Foundations, Staircase, Floor slab & beams, General Arrangements, Steel fabrication).
• Monitor designs prepared by junior engineers and peer review.
• Attend site and client meetings as required.

1. Prepare preliminary beam layouts in accordance with architectural floor plans.
2. Produce modal analysis and arrive at the loads on columns.
3. Prepare a design brief report as per the actual design analysis.
4. Check and issue GFCs of the CAD drawings ( Foundations, Staircase, Floor slab & beams, General Arrangements, Steel fabrication ) prepared by the draughtsman.
5. Monitor the designs prepared by junior engineers and peer view the same.
6. Attend site and client meetings as and when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Fresher or Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of structural design with a PG degree in Civil Engineering ( Structural Engineering as a Major) Up-to-date knowledge of IS codes.
