Job summary

Kumar Metal Industries is seeking a Senior Executive Stores to lead end-to-end stores and warehouse operations in Maharashtra. The role focuses on ensuring accurate ERP records, optimal inventory levels, and seamless material availability to support production.

You will supervise the stores team, implement best practices, and coordinate with Procurement, PPC, and Quality Assurance to maintain efficiency and cost control across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of inventory management principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic reporting).
  • Understanding of material coding and warehouse management.
  • Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, ABC analysis, and stock control techniques.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

To lead and oversee end-to-end stores and warehouse operations by ensuring efficient inventory management, material availability, warehouse optimization, statutory compliance, and ERP accuracy. The Senior Executive Stores is responsible for driving operational excellence, supervising the stores team, implementing best practices, and supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory costs.


Preferred candidate profile
  • Manage daily stores and warehouse operations, ensuring timely receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.
  • Ensure uninterrupted material availability for production by coordinating with Procurement, Production, and Planning.
  • Supervise receipt of raw materials, consumables, engineering spares, tools, packing materials, and finished goods.
  • Monitor warehouse space utilization and ensure efficient storage practices.
  • Ensure proper material identification, labeling, traceability, and preservation
  • Review and maintain documents such as Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), Stock Transfer Notes (STN), Gate Passes etc.
    Maintain optimum inventory levels to balance production requirements and inventory carrying costs.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and analyze slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
  • Lead cycle counting, monthly stock verification, and annual physical inventory.
  • Investigate stock variances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFO, FEFO, ABC analysis, and inventory control procedures.
    Coordinate with Production Planning and Control (PPC) to ensure timely material availability.
  • Liaise with Procurement to resolve material shortages and delivery delays.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance for incoming material inspections and rejected material handling.
  • Support Maintenance by ensuring critical engineering spares are available.

Work Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic reporting).
