Stax Living is seeking a Storekeeper to manage materials and inventory at our Vasai furniture manufacturing facility. The role requires accurate stock control, organized storage and close coordination with procurement and production teams to ensure timely material availability.

Key responsibilities include receiving materials, verifying deliveries, maintaining GRNs, labeling and storing stock, and issuing materials to production while keeping records up to date.

About the Role

We are looking for a Storekeeper to manage materials, inventory and daily store operations at our furniture manufacturing facility. The role requires accurate stock management, organised storage and close coordination with procurement and production teams to ensure materials are available and issued on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and specifications against purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Check deliveries for visible damage, shortages or discrepancies and report issues to procurement and quality teams.
• Prepare goods receipt notes (GRNs) and maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues and returns.
• Label, organise and store materials to protect them from damage and make them easy to locate.
• Issue materials to production against authorised requisitions and promptly update stock records.
• Monitor stock levels and notify procurement of replenishment requirements.
• Conduct regular physical stock checks, reconcile quantities with inventory records and report discrepancies.
• Record unused materials returned from production, tracking reusable offcuts, scrap and wastage separately.
• Keep rejected, damaged and pending-inspection materials separate from approved stock.
• Coordinate with procurement, production and accounts teams on deliveries, material availability and documentation.
• Maintain clean storage areas, safe stacking practices and unobstructed access.
• Support loading, unloading and material movement, ensuring careful handling.

Required Skills

Material and Inventory Knowledge

Candidates should have a working understanding of:

• Plywood, MDF, solid wood and veneers.
• Upholstery fabrics, leather, foam and cushioning materials.
• Furniture hardware, fittings and fasteners.
• Metal components, marble, stone and glass.
• Adhesives, polishes, paints and other production consumables.
• Units of measurement, material quantities and stock reconciliation.
• Storage requirements, shelf life and stock rotation where applicable.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a storekeeper or inventory assistant in furniture manufacturing, interiors, building materials or a related industry is preferred.
• Experience handling a variety of raw materials, components and consumables.
• Comfortable maintaining physical records and digital stock entries.
• Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to company materials.
• Ability to coordinate with factory teams and manage daily material requirements.
• Willingness to work on-site at the Vasai manufacturing facility.
