Job description

Job Title – Store Manager – Inventory & Logistics
Location – Leanwatts HQ, Hyderabad, India
About us

At Leanwatts, we develop innovative power electronic solutions for electric mobility and energy applications through continuous research, engineering, and manufacturing. Our "Designed and Made in India" approach drives us to build reliable, high-performance products for the future of transportation and energy.

What is this role about?

We are looking for a hands-on Store Manager to take ownership of material receipts, inventory accuracy, and logistics at Leanwatts. You will inward materials in our inventory/ERP system and ensure the right materials reach Production and Research & Development (R&D) teams on time. You will manage the flow of electronic components, PCBs, mechanical parts, assemblies, and consumables—from receipt and storage to issue, return, and dispatch. The role requires accurate system entries, organised stores, and close coordination with Purchase, Quality, Production, R&D, and Finance.

What you will do at Leanwatts:
  • Material Receipt & Verification: Receive materials and check item codes, part numbers, quantities, and condition against purchase orders and supplier documents. Record and resolve shortages, excess receipts, damage, and mismatches with Purchase and suppliers.
  • System Inwarding & GRNs: Create accurate, timely inward entries and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) in the company’s inventory/ERP system. Capture batch/serial details where applicable, attach supporting documents, and maintain an auditable record of each receipt.
  • Quality Coordination: Route incoming materials for required inspection and keep accepted, pending-inspection, and rejected stock clearly separated. Release materials only after the required approval and coordinate supplier returns for rejected items.
  • Storage & Inventory Control: Label materials and assign bin locations for easy identification and retrieval. Maintain accurate stock records, follow FIFO/FEFO where applicable, and flag low stock, ageing stock, and excess inventory for action.
  • Material Issue to Production: Pick and issue materials against approved requisitions, bills of materials (BOMs), or production orders. Record quantities and job/order references in the system, obtain receipt acknowledgement, and reconcile unused material returns.
  • Material Issue to R&D: Support prototype builds and testing by issuing components, samples, and consumables against approved requests. Track issues by project or cost centre, record consumption and returns, and maintain traceability for small-quantity and urgent requirements.
  • Inbound & Outbound Logistics: Coordinate supplier pickups, courier and transporter bookings, packing, dispatch, and delivery tracking. Arrange required invoices, delivery challans, and applicable transport documents with the responsible teams, and follow up on delays and proof of delivery.
  • Stock Verification & Reconciliation: Carry out cycle counts and periodic physical stock checks, reconcile physical stock with system balances, and investigate discrepancies. Process adjustments, write-offs, and scrap movements only with the required approvals.
  • Planning, Reporting & Coordination: Share stock availability, shortages, pending receipts, and dispatch status with relevant teams. Track inventory accuracy, receipt-entry turnaround, material-issue timeliness, and logistics performance; organise daily stores work and maintain housekeeping.
Must have requirements
  • Education: Diploma or bachelor's degree in commerce, engineering, logistics, supply chain, or a related field; candidates with strong relevant stores experience may also be considered.
  • Experience: Practical experience in manufacturing stores, inventory control, material inwarding, and logistics coordination, with the ability to manage daily operations independently.
  • Hands-On Ownership: Experience personally creating receipt/GRN entries, issuing materials to internal teams, reconciling stock, and maintaining supporting records—not solely supervising these activities.
2. Inventory Systems & Documentation:
  • System Skills: Working proficiency in an ERP or inventory management system, including receipts, material issues, returns, transfers, stock reports, and traceability records. Ability to learn Leanwatts' system quickly.
  • Documentation & Excel: Ability to verify purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans; maintain clear transaction records; and use Excel or Google Sheets for stock reconciliation and reporting.
3. Production & R&D Material Support:

You should be comfortable supporting both planned production requirements and changing R&D needs while ensuring every material movement is authorised and recorded.

  • Material Identification: Ability to distinguish item codes, manufacturer part numbers, specifications, units of measure, and approved revisions. Do not substitute components without approval from the responsible team.
  • Planning & Communication: Ability to read material requisitions and BOMs, prepare material kits, communicate shortages early, and coordinate priorities with Production, R&D, Purchase, and Quality.
4. Logistics, Handling & Store Discipline:
  • Logistics Coordination: Experience arranging pickups and dispatches, checking packing and shipping documents, tracking deliveries, and resolving transporter or courier issues.
  • Safe Material Handling: Understanding of appropriate storage and packing practices, including electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions for sensitive electronic components and handling requirements for fragile or high-value items.
  • Accuracy & Accountability: Strong attention to detail, orderly bin management, safe housekeeping, and disciplined adherence to approvals. Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to closure.
5. Preferred Advantages
  • Industry Exposure: Experience in electronics, electrical equipment, power electronics, EV products, or engineering manufacturing; familiarity with batch/serial tracking, barcode systems, and production kitting.
  • Operational Improvements: Experience supporting inventory audits, reducing stock discrepancies, improving store layout, monitoring reorder levels, or improving dispatch turnaround and freight coordination.
