Vensure Employer Solutions is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own substantial areas of PrismHR's .NET stack. You will drive design, implementation, testing, and production accountability in a mature Webforms environment with strong SQL Server expertise.

• Substantial hands-on ASP.NET Webforms experience.
• Strong C# in a mature codebase.
• Solid front-end work in JavaScript and jQuery.
• Deep SQL Server—writing, reading, and tuning queries and stored procedures.
• Staff-level scope—owning functional areas, setting standards, leading reviews, mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own significant functional areas end to end — design, implementation, test coverage, and production accountability.
• Diagnose hard problems across the application and database tiers and pinpoint root causes.
• Set engineering standards and lead code reviews.
• Mentor engineers and contribute input on platform evolution including modernization vs stability decisions.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure reliable, scalable delivery.

PrismHR is the HR, payroll, and benefits platform used by employer-services organizations across the United States, backed by Vensure Employer Solutions. Parts of that platform are mature ASP.NET Webforms applications that have run payroll reliably for years — and reliability at that scale is not an accident, it is engineering.

We will be straightforward with you~ this is work on an established .NET stack, not a greenfield rewrite. That is exactly why it needs a Staff-level engineer. Deep Webforms, jQuery, and SQL Server expertise is increasingly scarce, and here it is valued rather than treated as a liability. If you have it, there are very few places where it carries this much weight.

As a Staff Software Engineer you will own significant functional areas end to end — design, implementation, test coverage, and production accountability. You will diagnose the hard problems, the ones that have defeated other people, across the application and down into the database. You will set engineering standards, lead code reviews, and mentor engineers. And you will have real input into how and in what order this platform evolves, including where modernization makes sense and where stability is worth more.

You will need~

• Substantial hands-on ASP.NET Webforms — page lifecycle, state management, and the failure modes you only learn by living with them
• Strong C# across a mature codebase
• Solid front-end work in JavaScript and jQuery
• Deep SQL and SQL Server~ writing, reading, and tuning your own queries and stored procedures
• Staff-level scope~ owning functional areas, setting standards, leading reviews, mentoring engineers
• Ability to debug across application and database tiers and reason from symptom to root cause under pressure

Nice to have~ .NET Core or modern .NET exposure

The schedule~

1~00 PM - 10~00 PM IST, Monday to Friday. Not a night shift — your final hours overlap the start of the US East Coast working day. Your mornings are your own.
