Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings for structural/miscellaneous steel projects using Tekla Structures.
• Interpret design and fabrication drawings, model connections and assemblies, coordinate with engineers, detailers, and PMs to resolve issues.
• Review and validate shop drawings, reports, and material lists to support estimation, fabrication and erection activities.
• Guide junior modellers and contribute to workflow improvements and standards.

Role Description

The Sr. Tekla Modeller is a full-time, on-site role based in Mysore, responsible for developing detailed 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects using Tekla Structures. The role involves interpreting design and fabrication drawings, modeling connections and assemblies, and coordinating with engineers, detailers, and project managers to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with international standards. The Sr. Tekla Modeller reviews and validates shop drawings, reports, and material lists to support estimation, fabrication, and erection activities, while maintaining modeling best practices and project documentation. This position also guides junior modellers, contributes to workflow improvements, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to meet schedule, quality, and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures for structural and miscellaneous steel modeling, including connections and assemblies.
• Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings, shop details, and material takeoffs for steel structures.
• Solid understanding of structural steel standards and codes (e.g., AISC, BS, Eurocode) and common fabrication and erection practices.
• Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, models, and specifications.
• Prior experience in a detailing or fabrication support environment, ideally within industrial or commercial steel projects.
• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to identify and resolve modelling and coordination issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, and global teams.
• Capability to mentor junior modellers and contribute to the continuous improvement of standards and workflows.
• Diploma or degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related discipline; relevant Tekla certification is an advantage.
