Job Description
We rae looking for an experienced Tekla Modeller to support the detailing and execution of structural steel and pre-engineered building projects. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Tekla Structures, structural steel modelling, preparation of fabrication drawings and coordination with design, project and production teams.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically sound and capable of delivering accurate models and drawings within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.
- Prepare detailed General Arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and single-part drawings.
- Create models for PEBs, industrial buildings, warehouses, factory structures, platforms, pipe racks, trusses and other heavy structural-steel components.
- Generate material take-offs, bill of materials and reports from Tekla models.
- Ensure accuracy of connections, member sizes, bolts, welds, plates and other fabrication details.
- Prepare NC files and required output for fabrication, wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with structural design engineers to understand design drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Identify modelling conflicts, missing inputs and detailing issues, and coordinate for timely resolution.
- Work closely with production, quality and project teams to support fabrication and erection requirements.
- Revise models and drawings based on design changes, site inputs and client comments.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision records and project documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures is mandatory.
- Experience in modelling and detailing structural-steel and PEB projects.
- Good understanding of structural steel members, connections, bolts, welds, plates and fabrication practices.
- Ability to read and interpret structural design drawings and engineering specifications.
- Knowledge of preparation of GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings and material reports.
- Familiarity with Indian and international structural codes and standards, such as IS, AISC or relevant project standards.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in preparing fabrication-ready drawings and coordinating with shop-floor teams will be preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work effectively under project timelines.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and communication skills.
