Job summary

Hi-q Design & Detailing in India invites a skilled Modeler to develop structural steel models per client specifications and engineering constraints. You will create shop drawings and collaborate with engineers to ensure timely, quality project delivery.

The role requires BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, hands‑on Tekla Structures expertise, and exposure to US commercial projects, with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in structural steel detailing using 3D modelling.
• Advanced knowledge of 3D modelling using Tekla Structures.
• Exposure to US Commercial Projects.
• Knowledge of AISC & CISC Standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Study project-related documents.
• Develop shop drawing models for manufacturing structural steel.
• Model in accordance with structural and architectural drawings.
• Prepare and raise RFIs as required.
• Plan, monitor, and report status of junior team members.

Job description

We are looking for a Modeler to develop and design models according to client specifications, customer requirements, and engineering design constraints. This role involves creating shop drawing models for the manufacturing of structural steel and collaborating with team members at various levels to ensure project completion with high service quality

Roles and responsibilities include:

• Study and understand project related documents.
• Study structural drawings and execute detailed projects.
• Develop shop drawing models for manufacturing structural steel.
• Model in accordance with structural drawings and architectural drawings where necessary.
• Study scope of work, customer specifications, and contract drawings.
• Prepare and raise RFIs as required.
• Perform Template editing and prepare custom components.
• Apply connection applications within the model.
• Assume responsibility for the project alongside team members.
• Complete projects within target dates while maintaining service quality.
• Follow all QA/QC Procedures and adhere to relevant ISO documentation processes.
• Plan, monitor, and report status of junior team members.
• Generate reports as per client requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with team members.
• Train and coach junior team members if required.

Qualification & Skills:

• BE/ B. Tech/ Diploma in either Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in Structural Steel Detailing using 3D modelling program (range of experience considered based on project needs).
• Advance knowledge of 3D modelling using Tekla Structures.
• Advanced knowledge of 3D modelling using Tekla Structures.
• Exposure to US Commercial Projects.
• Knowledge of AISC & CISC Standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
