Job summary

Zimperium is seeking a Senior Technical Writer in India to author internal and customer-facing documentation for multiple technical products. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and support to produce release notes, guides, API docs, and other materials on tight timelines.

The role requires translating complex security/tech concepts into concise English, ensuring accuracy and readability, while managing multiple projects and deadlines in an Agile environment.

As a Senior Technical Writer in Zimperium, you will author internal and customer-facing documentation for several highly technical products.

This role requires understanding various product areas, working with a cross-functional team, along with authoring documents including release notes, user guides, API documents, and other documentation deliverables in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with the subject matter experts including developers, product managers, customer support and sales to understand software deliverables to give release notes and other documents for general availability releases.
• Research, analyze data and test new and existing software to develop documentation content.
• Strong ability to grasp technical concepts and ensure accuracy of customer-facing documentation.
• Develop product information with simple and concise English by organizing ideas and translating complex technical terms into information readers can understand.
• Understand and ensure documentation attributes of task orientation, accuracy, completeness, clarity, concreteness, organization, retrievability, and visual effectiveness.
• Communicate issues and seek support in a timely manner to deliver documentation within software release deadlines.
• Work independently while also being detail-oriented, organized, a team-player, and approachable.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strive to continually improve the quality of our product documentation.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have prior documentation experience authoring documentation for software products.

• BS/BA in Computer Science or other relevant fields.
• At least 5+ years of experience in software technical documentation.
• Ability to make complicated concepts easy to understand.
• Experience as a technical writer role in an agile software development environment.
• Experience in writing API documentation.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in image capture tools and PowerPoint to convey concepts when needed.
• Ownership and “can do” attitude with the passion to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Experience in IT security technologies and also iOS and Android mobile operating systems and technologies is highly desirable.
• Experience in Oxygen XML Editor is a plus.
• Experience in Markdown and Slate HTML documentation is a plus.
