Job summary

Philips in Bengaluru is seeking a Sr Technical Specialist to develop APIs, microservices, and front-end applications that expose and orchestrate internal and third-party services. You will work across distributed teams to realize a platform approach and ensure lifecycle management of services.

You will collaborate with cross-functional IT, R&D, and operations teams, applying your expertise in cloud technologies and API design to deliver scalable health-tech solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10+ years of experience and expertise in creating microservices with managed API approach for cloud deployment.
• Experience in FrontEnd applications using React/Angular.
• Experience with SOA/REST/Micro Service patterns and languages (Java, Python, Go, NodeJS).
• Experience designing APIs and common services for a domain.
• Experience with cloud technologies and middleware from public cloud providers.
• Experience with OpenAPI Specification and API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).

Sr Technical Specialist

The Software technologist (this position) will be developing the Philips API, Micro services and FrontEnd applications that expose and orchestrate functionality of various services both internal and that of 3rd party software.

He/She will participate in the realisation of the platform approach across central horizontal teams and function specific vertical teams.

The Software technologist (this position) will collaborate with the vertical teams in the development and LCM of the services developed.

We are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (computer science or equivalent) with 10+ years’ experience. This experience should include expertise in creating micro services that have adopted a managed API way of working targeting cloud deployments.
• Expertise in developing FrontEnd Applications in React/Angular.
• Expertise in developing services using SOA/Rest/Micro Service patterns and the associated programming languages used [Java, Python, Go, NodeJS…]
• Experience in designing APIs, common services in a given domain.
• Experience with cloud technologies offered by public cloud providers and its associated middleware and popular programming languages.
• Experience with Open API Specification and API documentation tools (such as Swagger and Postman).

• The role will be part of a geographically distributed team. This will need a global mindset and an ability to work with geographically distributed teams across time zones.
• You know how to design and write meaningful tests.
• The individual should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Should be a team player working as part of cross functional teams composed of IT, R&D, operations, and service across business and markets.
• Ability to appreciate multiple domains (within healthcare and wellness) and their overlaps.
• Should be sensitive to cultural differences in globally spread teams.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. Indicate if this role is an office/field/onsite role.
