Job summary

Vilas Transcore Limited is seeking a Sr QC Engineer (copper division) to ensure copper products meet customer specifications, drawings, and internal quality standards. The role emphasizes raw material inspection, in-process checks, final product inspection, and testing coordination to maintain traceability and quality records.

You will review MTCs, ensure proper material identification, and coordinate with Production for deviations and CAPA.

Qualifications

• Inspect incoming copper raw materials per approved specifications and purchase requirements.
• Review and verify material grade, size, thickness, width, weight, surface condition, and identification.
• Review MTC/test certificates and material traceability documents.
• Ensure proper identification and traceability of copper material throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Carry out stage-wise in-process inspections of copper manufacturing.
• Monitor critical process parameters; ensure compliance with SOPs/work instructions.
• Inspect dimensions, surface finish, straightness, joints, bends, and other parameters.
• Verify product quality at intermediate and final stages against drawings/specs.
• Identify deviations; coordinate with Production for corrective actions.
• Review customer drawings, QAPs, and inspection requirements for compliance.
• Maintain QC documents: inspection reports, test records, calibration logs; follow ISO 9001:2015.

Position: Sr QC Engineer (copper division)

Job Purpose

To ensure that copper products and manufacturing processes comply with approved customer specifications, drawings, quality standards, and internal quality requirements through effective inspection, testing, process control, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities A. Raw Material Inspection

• Inspect incoming copper raw materials as per approved specifications and purchase requirements.
• Verify material grade, size, thickness, width, weight, surface condition, and identification.
• Review Mill Test Certificates (MTC), test certificates, and material traceability documents.
• Ensure proper identification and traceability of copper material throughout the process.
• Report and control non-conforming raw materials.

B. In-Process Quality Inspection

• Conduct stage-wise inspection of copper manufacturing processes.
• Monitor critical process parameters and ensure compliance with approved SOPs and work instructions.
• Inspect dimensions, shape, surface finish, straightness, joints, bends, and other applicable parameters.
• Verify product quality at intermediate and final stages.
• Identify process deviations and coordinate with Production for corrective action.

C. Final Product Inspection

• Carry out final inspection of copper products against approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Check dimensional accuracy, surface quality, workmanship, and functional requirements.
• Ensure products meet applicable customer and internal quality standards before dispatch.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality records.

D. Testing & Measurement

• Perform or coordinate required tests on copper products as per specifications.
• Ensure measuring instruments are calibrated and available for inspection activities.
• Maintain inspection equipment and measurement records.
• Verify test results and take appropriate action in case of deviations.

E. Non‑Conformance & Rejection Control

• Identify, record, and segregate rejected/non-conforming products.
• Analyze rejection and rework causes in coordination with Production.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA).
• Monitor rejection, rework, and process-quality trends.
• Recommend actions to reduce recurring quality problems.

F. Customer Quality Requirements

• Review customer drawings, specifications, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and inspection requirements.
• Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are incorporated into inspection activities.
• Support customer inspections and resolve quality-related queries.
• Maintain required quality documentation for customer approval and dispatch.

G. QMS Documentation

• Maintain inspection reports, rejection reports, test reports, calibration records, and other QC documents.
• Follow ISO 9001:2015 requirements and applicable company procedures.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality records.

H. Coordination & Continuous Improvement

• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, PPC, and other departments for quality-related issues.
• Provide feedback to Production regarding process deviations and product defects.
• Participate in quality improvement and process improvement activities.
