Job summary

McCoy Architectural Systems Pvt. Ltd. in Pune invites a Senior Production Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing of structural steel, PEB and architectural steel from the Chakan facility.

You will ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery by translating designs and production plans into shop floor execution. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication leadership, disciplined production control and the ability to coordinate across design, planning, procurement, quality, stores, logistics

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor degree in Mechanical, Production, Civil, Metallurgy or a related engineering discipline.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in structural steel, PEB or heavy fabrication.
• 4+ years in a production leadership role.
• Experience with multi-process fabrication shops and significant manpower planning.
• Exposure to Indian/international standards and quality systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own daily and weekly production planning across cutting, drilling, fit up, welding, assembly, surface preparation, painting and dispatch activities.
• Translate project schedules, approved drawings, material availability and capacity constraints into practical shop floor priorities.
• Lead supervisors, engineers, operators, welders, fitters and contract workforce; set clear targets and build a culture of accountability.
• Monitor production progress against plan and take timely corrective action for bottlenecks, material shortages, machine downtime and manpower gaps.
• Ensure fabrication follows approved drawings, work instructions, welding procedures, inspection plans and applicable customer requirements.
• Partner with Quality and QA/QC teams to control weld quality, dimensional accuracy, surface preparation, coating and documentation; drive closure of nonconformities and rework.
• Coordinate with Design, PPC, Procurement, Stores, Logistics and Project teams to maintain flow from raw material receipt through finished goods dispatch.
• Control material yield, scrap, rework, consumables, WIP and production costs; identify and implement productivity and waste reduction actions.
• Maintain a safe, clean and compliant shop floor through toolbox talks, permit discipline, PPE use, housekeeping, risk assessments and incident follow up.
• Prepare and review production MIS covering plan versus actual, productivity, downtime, quality, manpower, material utilization and dispatch readiness.

Role Overview

The Senior Production Manager will lead end to end manufacturing for structural steel, pre engineered buildings and architectural steel systems from the Chakan facility. The role is accountable for safe, high quality and on time delivery by converting approved designs and production plans into efficient shop floor execution.

The successful candidate will bring strong fabrication leadership, disciplined production control and the ability to coordinate across design, planning, procurement, quality, stores, logistics and project teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor degree in Mechanical, Production, Civil, Metallurgy or a related engineering discipline.
• Typically 10 to 15 years of experience in structural steel, PEB, architectural steel or a comparable heavy fabrication environment, including 4 or more years in a production leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi process fabrication shops with significant manpower, equipment and project delivery commitments.
• Working knowledge of fabrication drawings, weld symbols, WPS and PQR, ITPs, MTCs, NDT coordination, dimensional control and NCR closure.
• Exposure to relevant Indian and international standards, customer specifications and quality systems is desirable.
• Comfort with Excel based MIS and ERP or production planning systems; familiarity with AutoCAD, Tekla or similar drawing and model review tools is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on site at Chakan, Pune and adjust working hours to meet production and dispatch requirements.
