Technical Lead for complete design and development of precision mechanical systems and modules of high-performance analytical instruments from concept through production.
Lead end-to-end mechanical system architecture designs that include key functional parts such as enclosures, pumps, valves, flow paths, column ovens, and detector housings & structural parts & mechanism.
Translate system-level and chemistry requirements into robust mechanical concepts, 3D models, and detailed engineering drawings.
Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and design optimization to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
Perform engineering calculations for fluid flow, thermal management, sealing, and mechanical stress.
Lead prototype builds, integration testing, and design validation in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, firmware, chemistry).
Execute sustaining activities including design updates, ECO implementation, and component obsolescence management.
Evaluate alternative materials, components, and manufacturing processes in collaboration with senior engineers.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles, coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners for tooling and part readiness.
Own component and subsystem qualification, including environmental, vibration, and lifetime testing.
