Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or Optical Engineering, or related field equivalent.
- Experience with optical components and systems (lenses, filters, detectors, illumination).

Job Summary
Key individual contributor, owning opto‑mechanical subsystems and supporting the design, integration, and performance of optical and mechanical components within instrument platforms.
Essential Skill set
- 5+ years of experience in opto‑mechanical or precision mechanical engineering.
- Experience with CAD tools and mechanical design principles.
- Familiarity with optical systems, alignment techniques, and tolerance analysis.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and hands‑on problem solving.
- Working experience with Windchill or any other PLM for model management, BOMs, and change control.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and standard drafting practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with global and cross‑functional teams.

Opto‑Mechanical Design & Development
- Design, develop, and support opto‑mechanical assemblies, including optical mounts, alignment features, housings, and precision mechanical components.
- Own subsystems or modules, including CAD modeling, detailing, and documentation.
- Support optical alignment, tolerance analysis, and performance optimization of integrated systems.
- Collaborate on selection and integration of optical components (e.g., lenses, filters, detectors, light sources).
Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Support
- Execute sustaining activities including design updates, ECO implementation, and component obsolescence management.
System Integration & Technical Contribution
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, firmware, and assay teams to support system integration and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to system requirements, interface definitions, and verification activities.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, providing data‑driven input.
