Job summary

Philips is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Pune to design and develop mechanical components for health technology products. You will apply physics, hand calculations, and modeling tools to ensure strength, stiffness, and reliability while interfacing with electrical and software teams.

The role requires experience in plastic molded and sheet-metal components, ANSI CAD tools, and DFx considerations. Medical device knowledge (IEC 60601) is a plus and a collaborative, process-driven mindset is

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of physics and hand calculations for strength and stiffness of components.
• Experience interfacing mechanical components with electrical components and software.
• Selection of shelf components such as motors, belts, pulleys, ball screws.
• Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape for modeling.
• Experience with structural design tools like ANSYS and CAD tools like Creo.
• Knowledge of manufacturability for plastic, sheet metal, and casting parts.
• Experience with verification and testing at component/subsystem level.
• Familiar with NPI/NPD processes: ideation to industrialization.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for systems/subsystems with plastic molded and sheet-metal parts.
• Use CAD to model components and run simulations to validate designs.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate with electrical and software.
• Apply DFM/DFX concepts to ensure manufacturability and quality.

Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Your Role:

• Strong understanding of physics and hand calculation of the mechanical components for deciding strength, stiffness etc.
• Good Understanding of interfacing of Mechanical components with electrical components and software.
• Selection of the shelf component such as like Motors, belts , pulleys, Ball screw.
• Hands on Experience in Matlab, Simulink, Simscape.
• Hands on experience in structural design(Ansys or equivalent), CAD(Creo and Equivalent), Windchill PDM / PLM for managing lifecycle of the components.
• Knowledge in manufacturability considerations for Plastic, Sheetmetal, Casting Components.
• Experience in conducting verification and experimental testing at components / subsystem level.
• Identifying the suitable material, apply DFM/DFA concepts in design.
• Experience with standard NPI / NPD process: Ideation to Industrialization.
• Familiar with latest engineering design and methods, tools, and processes
• Experience in Medical Device development and knowledge of IEC 60601 standards will be an added advantage.
• Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently with timely guidance.
• Result oriented team player.
• Excellent communication skills and Positive 'can do' attitude.
• Quality mindset in design and documentation.

• Completed Engineering studies at University level; BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design & development of system/subsystem having plastic molded and sheet-metal components
