Job summary

Mahindra Group is seeking an experienced cost engineering professional for Product Costing and RFQ Management. You will drive cost competitiveness for new platforms and guide engineering teams on cost estimation.

Responsibilities include macro- and bottom-up business case estimations, CMF impact assessments, and process improvements to achieve target costs, with a focus on materials and BOM analysis across automotive programs.

Qualifications

• 12 to 16 years of experience in Product Costing and RFQ Management.
• Product Development experience will be an added skill set.
• Experience in cost estimation and BOM analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Costing of trim components (exterior, interior, cockpit/instrument panel, soft trims, fuel/DEF tanks) and NVH for all platforms per standard norms; ensure submission dates.
• Agile in making macro-level and comprehensive micro-level business case estimations for new platforms from concept stages.
• Undertake CMF impact estimations and cost-saving estimations for prompt decision making by CFT.
• Build an ecosystem in Commodity for tracking RM prices, process norms, and rates in Commodity Master; guide Product Cost Engineers.
• Aware of polymer materials and processes for upfront cost optimization suggestions to Eng and Development Teams.
• Study and analyse SOR/drawings, BOM, process assumptions, mold specifications for components.
• Cost estimation of parts from SOR/drawing with standard guidelines across sub-systems.
• Drive materials cost competitiveness for new project parts.
• Process improvements through release of procedures and guidelines.
• Product/process cost demystification.
• Negotiation skills.
• On-time release of SBC to SSU for meeting target timeline for VOB.

Job description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Work-out Should Be Cost/ Zero Based Cost of Trim Components - Exterior Trim, Interior Trim, Cockpit/ Instrument Panel Assembly, Soft Trims, Plastic Fuel Tank and DEF Tank, NVH Acoustics for all Platforms and Projects as per Standard norms and Guidelines. Ensure Adherence to Submission Dates.
• Should be Agile in making Macro Level (Top Down) and Comprehensive (Bottom Up) Business Case Estimations for New Platforms from Concept Stages.
• Undertake CMF Impact Estimations, Cost Saving Estimations for Prompt Decision making by CFT.
• Should be able to build an Ecosystem in Commodity for tracking and updating RMs, its prices Process Norms, its rates in Commodity Master. Should be able to guide Product Cost Engineers on using Technical know-how for Cost Assumption.
