Responsibilities

• Manage Liability and Financial Lines placements with policy analysis and benchmarking.
• Handle large client submissions and coordinate with MNC brokers.
• Lead product development, pricing coordination, and pre-underwritten products for Retail teams.
• Support reinsurance placements and facultative proposals.
• Prepare client submissions via detailed risk analysis and exposure assessment.
• Conduct client/broker meetings to drive acquisition and retention.
• Train Sales teams on Liability products and market positioning.
• Oversee policy documentation, quality checks, and automation initiatives.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Liability Insurance Underwriter to assess and evaluate risks associated with liability insurance products. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the commercial liability landscape, from general liability to specialized products, ensuring accurate underwriting decisions that balance client needs and organizational profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Liability and Financial Lines placements, including policy analysis, structuring, and competitor benchmarking
• Handle large client submissions and work closely with MNC brokers to drive deal conversions
• Lead product development, pricing coordination, and pre-underwritten product creation for Retail teams
• Support reinsurance placements and facultative proposals to ensure optimal risk coverage
• Prepare client submissions through detailed risk analysis and exposure assessment
• Conduct client and broker meetings to support business acquisition, retention, and relationship management
• Train and enable Sales teams on Liability products and market positioning
• Oversee policy documentation, quality checks, automation initiatives, and regional P&L performance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Insurance, or a related field
• Relevant certification in insurance underwriting (e.g., CII, CPCU) is an asset
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in underwriting liability insurance products
• Comprehensive knowledge of liability lines, including general, professional, and specialty liability
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk profiles and make sound underwriting decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with brokers, agents, and internal teams
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks
