Job summary

Indira University is seeking a senior finance leader to manage the finance and accounting operations across E-commerce, D2C, and marketplace channels. The role focuses on revenue reconciliation, working capital, budgeting, forecasting, inventory, cost optimization, financial reporting, and business growth.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in e-commerce finance, P&L analysis, and ERP systems, with strong collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in finance, taxation, accounting, analytics, or ERP are an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end finance operations for E-commerce, D2C, and marketplace channels.
  • Monitor sales revenue and reconcile orders, returns, refunds, discounts, commissions, logistics, and marketplace deductions.
  • Manage marketplace settlements and resolve discrepancies across ERP, banks, and accounting records.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, MIS, dashboards, and channel/product profitability analysis.
  • Analyze P&L, margins, EBITDA, CAC, ROAS, AOV, ROI, and other E-commerce metrics.
  • Monitor and optimize operating costs, marketplace commissions, logistics, payment charges, discounts, and marketing spends.
  • Manage inventory valuation, ageing, provisions, working capital, receivables, payables, cash flow.
  • Ensure accurate accounting, month-end/year-end closing, revenue recognition, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
  • Partner with E-commerce, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams for business decisions.
  • Drive financial controls, process improvements, ERP integration, and analytics.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members and ensure timely closure of reconciliations and reports.

Job description

Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Commercial/Business Finance, or E-commerce Finance.
  • Hands-on experience in E-commerce, D2C, marketplace, or digital commerce finance preferred.
  • Experience in Beauty, Cosmetics, FMCG, Personal Care, Retail, Consumer Goods, or D2C businesses preferred.
  • Strong experience in revenue reconciliation, marketplace settlements, budgeting, forecasting, working capital, inventory, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.
Role Summary

Responsible for managing finance and accounting operations across E-commerce, D2C, marketplace, and digital sales channels, with a focus on revenue reconciliation, profitability, working capital, budgeting, forecasting, inventory, cost optimization, financial reporting, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end finance operations for E-commerce, D2C, and marketplace channels.
  • Monitor sales revenue and reconcile orders, returns, refunds, discounts, commissions, logistics, and marketplace deductions.
  • Manage marketplace and payment gateway settlements and resolve discrepancies across platforms, ERP, banks, and accounting records.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, MIS, financial dashboards, and channel/product-wise profitability analysis.
  • Analyze P&L, margins, EBITDA, CAC, ROAS, AOV, ROI, and other E-commerce metrics.
  • Monitor and optimize operating costs, marketplace commissions, logistics, payment charges, discounts, and marketing spends.

Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of E-commerce finance, marketplace settlements, revenue reconciliation, and D2C models.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, accounting standards, and financial controls.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Tally, Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, dashboards, and financial modelling.
  • Power BI/BI reporting experience is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
