Job summary

Pluugin Ecommerce is seeking an experienced Head of Accounting & Finance to lead the accounting function for its ecommerce division. The role requires oversight of financial reporting, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration to support strategic business decisions.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in accounting with supervisory experience, CA/ICWA preferred, and strong Excel and accounting software skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA / ICWA preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with some supervisory responsibility.
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with other financial systems.
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and finance for the ecommerce division.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting with internal controls.
• Reconcile transactions and book invoices for commissions, shipping, and marketing expenses.
• Manage marketplace reconciliation (Flipkart, Amazon) and related expenses.
• Handle tax affairs and compliance including GST for the company.
• Oversee general accounting functions (AP/AR/GL/taxes).
• Assist with audits and annual corporate financial controls audits.
• Collaborate on funding strategies and management decisions.
• Analyse revenue, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets.

Job description

Location : India Delhi NCR

• Will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and finance department for the company's e-commerce division.
• Will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintain proper internal controls, and provide financial guidance and support for business decision making.
• Managing e-commerce accounting, including reconciling transactions and booking invoices for commission, shipping, and marketing expenses.
• Handling marketplace reconciliation, including reconciling transactions and checking all the expenses like commission, shipping, and marketing expenses on marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon etc.
• Responsible for day-to-day oversight of the companies' tax affairs and compliance including new tax requirements and jurisdictions
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes and GST.
• Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
• Collaborate with management on development and execution of funding strategies
• Examine financial and legal documents to verify accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and acceptable financial principles
• Develop or recommend solutions for problems or situations
• Analyses revenue, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets.
• Assists management to make financial decisions.
• Maintains an accurate filing and record keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
• Participates in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business.

Requirements And Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CA / ICWA will be preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases Knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
