Job summary

Lavian LLP in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced accounting professional to maintain books, reconcile marketplace settlements and ensure compliance across GST and TDS. The role requires strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with payables/receivables and month-end closing.

You will coordinate with suppliers, warehouse and external accountants to ensure accurate financials and profitability analysis across ecommerce channels.

Qualifications

• B.Com or M.Com degree; CA Inter candidates are welcome.
• Preferably 25 years of accounting experience in ecommerce, apparel, retail or manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience reconciling marketplace settlements (Amazon/Flipkart/Myntra) is an asset.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS, bookkeeping, ledger reconciliation & month-end closing.
• Strong Excel skills with advanced functions and handling large files.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting, product costing & purchase-to-pay processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies independently.
• Organised, dependable and able to coordinate with vendors, warehouse teams and external accountants.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments & journal entries.
• Reconcile marketplace settlements from Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra & other channels, including commissions, deductions, returns, refunds & outstanding payments.
• Identify payment discrepancies & coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
• Manage accounts payable & receivable, verify supplier invoices & schedule payments.
• Perform regular bank, vendor, customer & marketplace ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare GST & TDS workings; reconcile records & coordinate with external CA for filings & compliance.
• Maintain inventory accounting for raw materials, work in progress & finished goods with warehouse/production teams.
• Verify purchase orders, goods receipts & invoices; investigate quantity/value differences.
• Track product costs, marketplace fees, logistics expenses & other operating costs for profitability analysis.
• Prepare monthly reports covering sales, expenses, cash flow, outstanding payments & channel profitability.
• Support month-end closing, year-end finalisation & audits with supporting documentation.
• Improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy & financial controls as business grows.

• Familiarity with inventory accounting, product costing & purchase-to-payment processes.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills & the ability to investigate discrepancies independently.
• Organised, dependable & comfortable coordinating with vendors, warehouse teams, marketplace teams & external accountants.
• Able to manage deadlines, maintain confidentiality & take ownership of day-to-day accounts.
