Job summary

Godrej Process Equipment in India seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop fabrication drawings and calculations for coded pressure vessels and heat exchangers, using AutoCAD and ERP tools. You will ensure conformance with ASME Sec VIII and TEMA standards.

Essential qualifications include BE/ Diploma in Mechanical, 2 years (degree) or 4 years (diploma) of design experience, knowledge of ISO procedures, and strong analytical and communication skills to coordinate with manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Design coded pressure vessels and heat exchangers per ASME and TEMA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fabrication drawings and design calculations for pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
• Cross-check drawings against BOM and MTOs for consistency and accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to IMS norms and project schedules and participate in Kaizen initiatives.

Job Description

• A) Throughput Contribution
• 1) Use customer data sheets and specifications as input and convert them into output in the form of fabrication drawings and sketches using AutoCAD software
• 2) Prepare of Design calculations of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers and other process equipments as per National and International codes like ASME, TEMA, AD MERKBLATTER, PD 5500, etc
• 3) Prepare fabrication drawings of complex process equipment
• B) Capital Efficiency
• 1) Cross-check drawing details with bill of materials table of drawing, for consistency
• 2) Ensure correctness and timeliness for MTO's (Material Take Off), drawings and other design documents
• 3) Prepare detailed bills of materials and technical specifications for bought out items
• C) Improvements and Strategic Initiatives
• 1) Do an interference checking with reference to past project data to avoid any errors that might occurred previously
• 2) Ensure quality and timeliness for documentation and drawings
• 3) Ensure adherence to IMS norms and standards
• 4) Participate in Divisional Initiatives like Kaizen, Business Excellence, TPM etc.
