Job summary

ROSS Controls in Ambattur (India) seeks an Engineer/Sr. Engineer/Lead Engineer - Design to design and develop pneumatic valves and control systems. You will create 3D models, detailed drawings, and perform design calculations to support stage-gate processes.

You will test prototypes, verify designs, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and sales teams for successful project execution. Applicants should have 5–8 years of relevant experience and a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Engineer/ Sr. Engineer / Lead Engineer - Design, located in Ambattur. The role involves designing and developing pneumatic valves and control systems, preparing and reviewing technical drawings, conducting product testing and validation, collaborating with cross-functional teams for project execution, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The engineer will also be responsible for problem-solving and providing technical support to the production and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage design and engineering tasks for NPD projects from concept to market release
• Design and develop components and subsystems Incorporating core engineering principles and customer specifications for Pneumatic valves and other Pneumatic products.
• Conceptualize new designs and optimize existing products for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain design documents including 3D models, 2D Manufacturing drawings, Design Calculations, and other relevant documents necessary for stage gate process.
• Prototyping, design verification, and product validation with lab tests.
• Work closely with cross functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and other supporting teams to ensure smooth project progression.
• Provide technical support to sales, production, and quality control departments and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge sharing and technical issue resolution
• Participate in continuous improvement activities: cost reduction, quality enhancement, efficiency improvements.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of pneumatic systems, including solenoid valves, Regulators, actuators, and other pneumatic products.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solid Edge/Creo)
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, and other design practices .
