Lotus Technicals Private Limited is seeking an HVAC design expert to lead independent heat load calculations, AHU zoning, duct design, and BOQ generation for complex projects in Maharashtra. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and supervise equipment sizing, duct routing, and final drawings with vendors.
The role requires strong technical leadership, knowledge of AutoCAD, and fluency in English/Hindi, with a focus on timely delivery and risk-aware decision-making.
1. To study the project brief in detail and suggestchanges as per the client’s requirements in coordination with the projectdesign and project management teams.
2. To agree upon the control philosophy of the Heating,Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system and prepare a concept documentfor the same.
3. To support the project design team in working on areazoning, Air Handling Unit (AHU) zoning, temperature, and Relative Humidity (RH)requirements for client approval.
4. To gather data from various departments, namely projects,process, utility, and electrical, for heat load estimation in the assignedprojects.
5. To supervise and analyse the heat load calculationsand support the reporting engineers in completing the task with the requiredaccuracy.
6. To review, verify, and approve utility calculations required for HVAC.
7. To thoroughly review the heat load calculations, identifyany major or minor issues related to client or project team considerations, anddiscuss changes as required.
8. To finalise and approve the heat load calculationsfor the facility before proceeding with HVAC equipment calculations.
9. To support and supervise the equipment calculationsbased on heat load and space programming for the project. This might involve equipmentsuch as, but not limited to, AHUs, cooling and heating coils, ducting, dampers,filter boxes, grilles, diffusers, risers, etc.
10. To review and guide ductcalculations and duct routing drawings.
11. To verify allHVAC equipment sizing and load calculations before allowing to proceed to the Billof Quantities (BOQs).
12. To support, supervise,and check the BOQ prepared by the team members in detail before sending it forfurther approval to the project team and finally to the client.
13. To assist indeveloping and maintaining a technical and commercial database for HVAC equipment.
14. To update thedatabase on a regular basis to reduce the time required for designing.
15. To review and approve equipmenttechnical specifications before submitting them to the project team and client.
16. To prepare technicaland commercial comparative statements for equipment selection and coordinatewith the purchase department for vendor finalization and procurement.
17. To verify thedesign, BOQ, and equipment list before proceeding with detail engineering. Thismay involve checking the heat load calculations again based on actual loads.
18. To supervise thepreparation and coordination of the Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP) with theproject design team and other departments for the generation of final drawings.
19. To superviseand approve all the drawings and details received from vendors for all HVACcomponents for further processing and manufacturing.
20. To assist in andorganise the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of HVAC equipment on a regular basiswith the HVAC team in coordination with the purchase and project managementdepartments.
21. To supervise, verify,and approve all detail engineering contract drawings to be executed at the site,referred to as the “construction drawings release.”
22. To assist the purchaseteam and project management team, where needed, for effective decision-making regardingplacing orders for HVAC equipment and site labour contracts with scope details.
23. To attend thesite meetings for HVAC-related work, proactively identify possible issues,develop mitigation plans, and ensure timely resolution of site-related issues,including duct routing conflicts, equipment placement issues, constructiondrawing discrepancies, and sizing-related issues.
24. To supervise theupdating of the design and drawings on a regular basis to keep the design data upto date as per site conditions and changes.
25. To work incoordination with the Documentation, Qualification, Validation, and Commission(DQVC) team and the HVAC team to ensure project documentation is prepared andmaintained as per the project requirements.
26. To assist theDQVC team in document collection and removing bottlenecks in the documentation process.
27. To supervisethe preparation of as-built drawings in coordination with the site team andensure the updated drawings are maintained in the system.
1. Abilityto design HVAC systems independently, including heat load calculation, HVACclassification, AHU zoning, duct design and layout, AHU fan and coil selectionbased on heat load, and BOQ generation.
2. Abilityto coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including ProjectManagement, Utility, Electrical, Process, and DQVC departments. .
3. Strongtechnical leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor juniorengineers and designers.
4. Capability to prepare andreview Technical Specifications (TS) and Datasheets (DS) for HVAC and cleanroomsystems.
5. Good working knowledge ofAutoCAD and the ability to independently review engineering drawings.
6. Fluentin written and spoken English and Hindi.
7. Self-motivatedand target-oriented.
8. Strongdocumentation, reporting, and technical writing skills.
