Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop clutch systems for new vehicle programs. You will work with the CFT team, based on input requirements, market strategy and regulatory considerations to meet performance targets.

The role involves coordinating with vendors for clutch assembly, performing FMEA and design verification, and ensuring design targets on time, cost and weight are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience in automotive engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop Clutch system in alignment with project targets and VDS/SDS.
• Coordinate with vendors to design and develop clutch system including clutch, release, pedal to meet vehicle timeline.
• Sign off clutch system layouts with interface teams.
• Conduct Design FMEA, Design Review and Design Verification Plan with team and vendors.
• Apply domain knowledge for theoretical calculations on clamp load, pedal effort, energy dissipation and NVH.

Job description

To design and develop Clutch Systems for new vehicle programs considering the voice of customer / customer requirement/Business strategy, regulations, cost quality (durability/reliability), time, and emerging trends in technology.

• To design and develop Clutch system along with the CFT Team based on VDS/SDS, Customer inputs requirement and market strategy
• Coordinate with the vendor to design and develop the Clutch System including clutch, clutch release, clutch pedal so as meet the vehicle timeline
• Layout signoff of clutch system with the other interface teams
• Conducting Design FMEA, Design Review and Design Verification Plan along with the team including vendor.
• Applying domain knowledge for theoretical calculation on clamp load/release load, meeting pedal effort requirements, energy dissipation, NVH requirements
• Follow MPDS system, to design and develop system as per the project targets and coordinate with the team members internal and external to carry out the task
• IMCR initiators and implementation
• Field concern resolution
• Design FMEA, Design Review to be conducted
• Review with the Manufacturing, Service, Quality Departments.
• Review with PVT and service for the field concern resolutions
• Warranty cost for the aggregate monitored in R / 1000 for 3 MIS - Design the robust clutch system for meeting the R/1000 targets
• IMCR projects – Cost reduction - Making design proposal in the clutch system to reduce cost without compromising the quality, functionality and product life
• CPI Rating - Design which will meet the time, cost, weight as per project target.
