Job summary

Jabil seeks a Senior Electrical/Control Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment and production lines. You will lead PLC, HMI, motion control, and machine integration efforts while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role collaborates with mechanical, software, and vision teams, mentors junior engineers, conducts FAT/SAT/site startup, and defines BOMs, risk assessments, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial automation or machine control systems.
• Strong experience with PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, or Omron).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA development.
• Knowledge of EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus.
• Ability to read and develop electrical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and control system design for automation equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring standards.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, servo, and robotic systems.
• Integrate equipment with factory MES, SCADA, database, and Industry 4.0 platforms.
• Review customer requirements and translate them into control system designs.
• Define electrical BOMs and select appropriate electrical components.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with machine safety standards.
• Perform system commissioning, FAT, SAT, and site startup activities.
• Support equipment validation, qualification, and troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during project execution.
• Work closely with mechanical, software, vision, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Support customer meetings and provide technical presentations when required.

• Experience with machine vision systems, including Cognex, Keyence, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of robotics integration (FANUC, ABB, Epson, Universal Robots, etc.).
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or high-volume production environments.
• Familiarity with UL, CE, NFPA79, and machine safety standards.
• Experience in AI-enabled automation and Digital Twin technologies.
