Job summary

Tangience Designs Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for our Bengaluru office.

You will contribute to conceptual design through completion across commercial, residential, industrial, and healthcare projects, focusing on power distribution, lighting, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include preparing layouts, performing complex electrical calculations, producing technical reports, and mentoring junior designers while ensuring QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Minimum of 6 to 10 years experience in electrical design.
• Focus on electrical systems for buildings including power distribution, lighting, life safety and communications.
• Working knowledge of NBC, IS standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of power distribution, control, and lighting for commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare buildings.
• Prepare Lighting, Earthing, Power & Cable Tray Layouts.
• Perform electrical calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, cable sizing, switchgear selection, lighting calculations).
• Oversee design outputs and guide project team to meet objectives.
• Write detailed technical reports and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with internal clients and other engineering disciplines.

Job description

This exciting opportunity to work through our Bengaluru office. You will apply your electrical design knowledge on project work from conceptual design through completion in the following areas: commercial, residential, retail, institutional, industrial, healthcare buildings. Technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing guidance to a team of designers are integral parts of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Electrical design of power distribution, control, communication, lighting for commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare buildings
• Preparation of Lighting, Earthing, Power & Cable Tray Layouts
• Knowledge on Electrical short circuit, voltage drop, lighting and other electrical calculations etc
• Manage major aspects of the electrical design of projects.
• Prepare and participate in design reviews.
• Perform electrical calculations (Ex: Short circuit, cable sizing, voltage drop, switchgear selection, component selection and sizing, lighting calculations, AC/DC power distributions design).
• Writing detailed and concise technical reports, feasibility studies, including written responses and instructions as required during all project phases.
• Conducting all tasks in cooperation with internal clients and other engineering disciplines.
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project teams work by supervising and guiding team to meet overall project objectives.
• Responsible for production of design output reviewing of teamwork.
• Backing the design team efforts guiding them to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort.
• Knowledge sharing, training & guiding the juniors on technical aspects. Arranging Quality Assurance sessions to make sure all team members are updated to the new standards & technology.
• Understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice and authority’s guidelines
• Responsible for compliance with company QA/QC procedures its implementation.
• Arriving BOQ/BOM
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must possess a team player attitude. Ready to handle team and problem-solving skills are preferred.
