The Specialty Nurse – Emergency provides prompt nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. The involves triage support, rapid patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, administering prescribed treatments, assisting with emergency procedures, and coordinating with emergency physicians. The nurse prioritizes patient safety, maintains accurate documentation, and supports timely stabilization and transfer of patients according to emergency department protocols.

• Receive and assess patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Support triage and prioritization according to established protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of clinical deterioration.
• Escalate critical conditions promptly to emergency physicians.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely.
• Assist with emergency procedures and resuscitation as trained and authorized.
• Prepare patients for urgent investigations and interventions.
• Establish and maintain appropriate patient monitoring.
• Maintain accurate emergency nursing records.
• Follow patient identification and medication safety protocols.
• Provide immediate nursing support during medical emergencies.
