Job summary

Ascendum Solutions India is seeking an experienced automation engineer with strong C++ development skills to support and expand our validation test suites. You will develop automated tests in C++, create validation scenarios in C#, and lead a Bangalore-based team to ensure on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, agile processes, and continuous improvement of automation frameworks to improve quality, speed, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Strong competency in C++ with solid software development experience.
• Experience in test automation development and maintenance.
• Experience working with software quality, verification, and validation.
• Experience in Agile ways of working.
• Good communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in coordinating technical activities and supporting team execution.
• Experience analysing test failures using logs, reports, signals, or diagnostic information.
• Basic or good knowledge of C# is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support software development and automation needs with strong hands-on C++ development.
• Develop validation scenarios in C# to support end-to-end verification flows and improve engineering efficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and improve the C++-based automated test suite used for validation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, test quality, and development ways of working.
• Lead and coordinate team activities in Bangalore, ensuring alignment, execution progress, and delivery quality.
• Analyse and fault trace failed test results from System RIGs and Trucks & Support investigations related to test environment issues.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, developers, testers, and other engineering teams to clarify needs and support successful deliveries.
• Drive structured follow-up on development progress, technical quality, documentation, and team execution.
• Work in an Agile setup with a strong focus on collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Support the team in building sustainable automation capability that improves quality, speed, and efficiency.
• Work with logs, reports, and test results to understand why the test suite is failing and help identify the correct fault ownership.
• Help keep the automation setup, pipelines, reports, and execution flows up and running.

• Experience working with HIL rigs, test benches, or vehicle testing and fault tracing of failed automated tests.
• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, diagnostics, signals, logs, or vehicle communication.
• Experience in embedded software development or embedded software verification
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, or similar development and collaboration platforms
• Knowledge of test frameworks, validation environments, and automation architecture
• Experience in leading or mentoring team activities without formal line responsibility
