Job summary

Randstad is seeking a skilled Specialist to join our core engineering team. With 1–2 years of experience, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services and microservices deployed on AWS.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architecture decisions and deliver robust software solutions powering Randstad's core products. You will work on API design, system integration, and may contribute to AI capabilities while following agile practices and ensuring

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of professional software development experience.
• Core Tech: Strong foundational knowledge of Java and Spring / Spring Boot.
• Microservices & APIs: Hands-on experience developing microservices architectures and RESTful Web Services.
• Databases: Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Tools & Practices: Familiarity with Git version control, basic unit testing (JUnit), and agile team workflows.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Build, maintain, and test reliable microservices using Java and Spring Framework.
• API & System Support: Design and integrate RESTful APIs to connect backend services with user-facing features.
• Feature Integration: Assist in integrating basic AI capabilities (such as LLM APIs or cloud AI tools) and basic frontend components into existing workflows.
• Code Quality & Maintenance: Write clean, readable code, participate in peer code reviews, and debug production issues.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior engineers, product managers, and team members to deliver features on schedule.
• Stays up to date with technology developments and participates in discussions on how these may improve upon the current architecture and development efficiency.
• Uses existing policies, procedures or instructions to solve routine or standard problems.
• Explains factual information of limited complexity to others in straightforward situations.

About the Role

• Cloud/DevOps: Basic understanding of Docker or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
