Job summary

NiCE seeks a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) with 8–12 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain robust automation and reliability solutions for our Azure SaaS data platforms. You will collaborate with Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Operations, and R&D to scale, monitor, and self-heal data services.

You will bridge database engineering and site reliability to ensure cloud-native offerings are resilient, secure, and scalable for development at scale.

Qualifications

• Proficient with AWS services for database platforms and IAM.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and time‑series databases.
• Strong Kubernetes (EKS) expertise.
• Proficient with IaC using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Experience with monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• CI/CD and GitOps pipelines knowledge.
• Awareness of security, data governance, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of production and non-production database platforms.
• Design, operate, and optimize DynamoDB, AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), Aurora, and OpenSearch environments.
• Automate backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Lead database incident investigations and post-incident reviews.
• Partner with Platform Engineering and SRE to set standards for database lifecycle management.
• Enable secure, scalable self-service data platform workflows for app teams.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and query optimization.
• Build and maintain observability for data platforms using metrics/logs/alerts.
• Automate provisioning and operations using Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensure security, regulatory, and data governance compliance.

How will you make an impact?

• Own availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of production and non‑production database platforms.
