Job summary

Sirius Fashion in Bengaluru is seeking a practical, commercially minded professional to manage sourcing, product costing, supplier terms and quality assurance from development through production.

You will build a dependable supplier base, drive cost optimization, negotiate terms, set up quality checks, and monitor supplier performance to ensure launches are on time and meet cost/quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality or related discipline.
• Around 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, product development or quality, ideally in consumer products.
• Experience in Kitchen & Dining, Small Home Appliances, Seasonal Home Appliances or Home Furnishing categories.
• Working knowledge of BOM costing, manufacturing processes, supplier negotiations and quality-control methods.
• Experience negotiating payment terms, credit periods, MOQs and other terms of trade.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills; experience with factory audits, inspections, defect analysis and corrective actions is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to supplier and manufacturer locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and development: identify manufacturers and coordinate development from brief to production readiness.
• BOM costing and cost optimisation: prepare BOMs and establish target costs, break down costs and identify savings.
• Commercial negotiations: negotiate pricing, terms, MOQs, lead times and discounts; set terms for tooling, packaging, freight and warranties.
• Quality assurance: set up quality checks, create specifications, organize supplier audits and corrective actions.
• Supplier performance: review cost, quality, capacity, delivery and flexibility; develop alternate sources where needed.
• Launches and improvement: coordinate specs, samples, costing, testing and production readiness for new launches; benchmark competitors and use consumer feedback.

Role overview

We are a growing consumer products business with a portfolio spanning Kitchen & Dining, Small Home Appliances, Seasonal Home Appliances and Home Furnishing. We are looking for a practical, commercially minded professional to manage sourcing, product costing, supplier terms and quality assurance from development through production.

Key responsibilities

Product sourcing and development

• Identify and assess manufacturers and suppliers across the relevant product categories.
• Coordinate product development from initial brief and sampling through approval and production readiness.
• Build a dependable supplier base that can support new launches and business growth.

BOM costing and cost optimisation

• Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and establish target costs for new and existing products.
• Break down component, raw material, packaging, manufacturing and logistics costs; identify savings without compromising quality.

Commercial negotiations and terms of trade

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods, advance payments, MOQs, lead times and volume-based discounts.
• Agree clear terms for tooling, packaging, freight, warranties, replacements, defective goods and other relevant commercial conditions.
• Improve supplier terms in ways that support margins, cash flow and dependable supply.

Quality assurance

• Set up quality checks for sample approval, pre-production, in-process manufacturing and pre-dispatch stages.
• Create product-specific specifications, inspection checklists and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate supplier audits and inspections, investigate recurring defects, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Use customer reviews, returns and complaints to identify product issues and improve future batches.

Supplier performance management

• Review suppliers on cost, quality, capacity, delivery performance and commercial flexibility.
• Track performance against agreed standards, address recurring issues and develop alternate sources where appropriate.

Launches and continuous improvement

• Coordinate specifications, samples, costing, testing, packaging and production readiness for new launches.
• Benchmark competing products and use consumer feedback to improve existing products.
• Confirm products meet approved cost, quality and commercial requirements before production commitments are made.

The person we're looking for

Someone who is comfortable working directly with suppliers and manufacturers, pays attention to the details behind product cost and quality, and follows issues through to resolution. The role needs a balance of commercial judgement, structured quality checks and hands-on execution.
