Job summary

Generac Captiva is seeking a strong Techno-Commercial / Strategic Sourcing professional in Pune to lead end-to-end sourcing for engineering components, with mandatory sheet metal sourcing experience. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production and Finance to ensure reliable suppliers, cost competitiveness, and on-time material availability.

Key duties include RFQ/RFP handling, supplier negotiations, cost analyses, and development of a robust supplier base for sheet metal

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement of Sheet Metal components and fabricated parts.
• Develop and maintain a strong supplier/vendor base for Sheet Metal, fabrication and other engineering components.
• Handle RFQ/RFP activities, technical-commercial evaluation, quotation comparison and supplier negotiations.
• Conduct cost analysis, price benchmarking and cost negotiation to achieve optimum procurement cost.
• Review drawings, BOMs and technical requirements with suppliers for feasibility and manufacturability.
• Drive cost reduction / VA-VE initiatives through alternate suppliers and localization.
• Monitor supplier performance using Quality, Cost and Delivery metrics.

Job description

We are looking for a strong Techno-Commercial / Strategic Sourcing professional who will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for engineering components, with hands-on experience in Sheet Metal sourcing being mandatory.

The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Design, Quality, Production and Commercial teams to develop reliable suppliers, achieve cost competitiveness, ensure quality and support timely material availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement of engineering components, with primary responsibility for Sheet Metal components and fabricated parts.
• Develop and maintain a strong supplier/vendor base for Sheet Metal, fabrication and other engineering components.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, technology and delivery capability.
• Handle RFQ/RFP activities, technical-commercial evaluation, quotation comparison and supplier negotiations.
• Conduct cost analysis, price benchmarking and cost negotiation to achieve optimum procurement cost.
• Work closely with the Engineering/Design team to understand drawings, specifications, BOMs and technical requirements.
• Have a good understanding of Sheet Metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, bending, punching, welding, fabrication, powder coating/painting and related processes.
• Review technical drawings and specifications and coordinate with suppliers for feasibility and manufacturability.
• Drive cost reduction / VA-VE initiatives through alternate suppliers, process improvements, material optimization and localization.
• Ensure suppliers meet agreed quality standards, delivery schedules and commercial terms.
• Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams for supplier qualification, development and corrective actions.
• Monitor supplier performance through Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) parameters.
• Negotiate commercial terms including price, payment terms, lead time, MOQ, tooling/development cost and other commercial conditions.
• Support new product development/NPI activities from the sourcing perspective.
• Manage vendor development activities for new and existing components.
• Track market trends, raw-material prices and supplier capabilities to support effective sourcing decisions.
• Maintain sourcing data, quotation comparisons, vendor records and cost-related MIS.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely material availability without compromising cost and quality.

Mandatory Requirements

Sheet Metal sourcing experience is MUST.
