Job summary

HomeEssentials is India’s digital-first Home & Lifestyle brand seeking a seasoned Sourcing Lead to manage international supplier networks across home, kitchen, and decor categories.

You will own supplier evaluation, onboarding, negotiations, and lifecycle management, coordinating with product, quality, and operations teams to ensure timely production and cost efficiencies for a growing D2C portfolio.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or supply chain.
• Strong experience in International sourcing and supplier management.
• Strong existing network of international suppliers/vendors/manufacturers preferred.
• Experience in Home, Kitchen, Lifestyle, Consumer Products, D2C, Retail, or Ecommerce preferred.
• Strong commercial negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Ability to independently identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers.
• Strong understanding of supplier markets, manufacturing ecosystem, pricing, MOQ, lead times, and production processes.
• Strong communication, coordination, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers, products, production schedules, and timelines simultaneously.
• Experience in Home category sourcing is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify, onboard and develop international suppliers across Home, Kitchen, and related categories.
• Build and maintain a network of domestic and international manufacturers, suppliers, traders, and vendors.
• Source new products and suppliers from the international market based on requirements and pricing.
• Evaluate supplier capability including capacity, quality, lead times, and pricing.
• Negotiate commercial terms with international suppliers including MOQ and payment terms.
• Develop long-term relationships with key international suppliers.
• Manage the complete supplier lifecycle from onboarding to delivery.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time product availability.
• Drive cost optimization and better sourcing terms through negotiations.
• Coordinate with product, quality, warehouse, operations and finance teams.
• Maintain a structured supplier database with capabilities and performance.
• Explore supplier ecosystem for new manufacturers and cost efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, onboard and develop International suppliers and vendors across Home, Kitchen, Lifestyle, Home Decor, Bathroom, and related categories.
• Build and maintain a strong network of reliable domestic manufacturers, suppliers, traders, and vendors.
• Source new products and suppliers from the International market based on product requirements, quality, pricing, and scalability.
• Conduct supplier evaluation and capability assessment, including manufacturing capacity, quality standards, lead times, pricing, and reliability.
• Own commercial negotiations with International suppliers/vendors, including product cost, MOQ, payment terms, lead time, packaging, and other commercial terms.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key International suppliers and strategic vendors.
• Manage the complete supplier lifecycle from vendor identification and sampling to onboarding, production, quality, dispatch, and delivery.
• Monitor supplier production schedules and ensure on-time availability of products.
• Drive cost optimisation and better sourcing terms through supplier negotiations, alternate vendor development, and market benchmarking.
• Coordinate with suppliers for product development, samples, packaging, artwork, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Track production milestones, purchase orders, dispatches, and delivery schedules and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
• Develop alternate suppliers and backup sources for critical products to minimise supply disruptions.
• Monitor vendor performance on cost, quality, production capacity, lead time, and delivery adherence.
• Proactively resolve supplier-related issues involving quality, production, pricing, capacity, logistics, and delays.
• Work closely with Product, Quality, Warehouse, Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure smooth supply execution.
• Maintain a structured supplier/vendor database with details of product categories, capabilities, pricing, MOQs, lead times, and performance.
• Continuously explore the supplier ecosystem for new manufacturers, better sourcing opportunities, innovative products, and cost efficiencies.

Candidate Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or supply chain.
• Strong experience in Intrenational sourcing and supplier management.
• Strong existing network of international suppliers/vendors/manufacturers will be highly preferred.
• Experience in Home, Kitchen, Lifestyle, Consumer Products, D2C, Retail, or Ecommerce is preferred.
• Strong commercial negotiation and vendor management skills.
